Default non Porsche daily driver wax recommendation

Hello,
I just bought a new daily driver, 2010 Golf TDI (great little engine and DSG gearbox).

What would be the consensus recommendation for wax for a non Porsche daily driver?

It's not a garage queen (my 996Turbo holds that position in the house), so I am not looking for anything befitting a Porsche....in other words, practical detailing (wash, wax, done).

Thanks

I use P21S Carnauba on my DD. It's easy, cheap enough and it doesn't stain rubber/plastic parts. It will maintain its protection for at lest 45 days based upon my last year of driving in the NE.

Congrats on the new purchase!

duragloss 105 , if layers even better , think thin when applied, also a claybar before wax is even better.

I also like Collinite and may pick it up once the P21S runs out. Alternative would be NXT Tech II, avaialble at any auto store.

I've used P21S before trying Pinnacle Souveran a few years ago.

Does Collinite stain trim or is it P21s/Souveran like in that regard?

From what I remember Collinite's Insulator wax does not stain trim if removed in a reasonable amount of time. Probably one of the easiest synthetics I've ever used. I used it 20 years ago so it's been a while but I would remember if it was difficult to use or made a mess of trim.

It has not stained trim in my experience. You must apply it in very thin coats or it can be a bear to get off.

I'll order some and try applying/removing by hand (don't own a random orbital...I'd probably do more damage than good if I did) and see how it goes.

I am no detailer.. heck, I hardly wax a car more than 2 times a year. However, wouldn't the one car subjected to harsher elements and use need as good or better protection than a garage queen?

Collinite 845 arrived Friday and I tried it last night on my son's VR R32 (blue metallic).
Easy to apply and remove, even if I left it on for quite a while.

It has no cleaning properties that I can tell and doesn't give much depth of color, has no filling properties, but again it was purchased for daily driver use so longevity is the key.

I also bought a bottle of Collinite 850 Metal Wax to use on the exhaust tips.
Is easier to use than Flitz and does a good job cleaning, easy to apply and remove.
We'll see how it holds up and lasts.
