Use an ice pack to harden the gum and slowly remove. It will take some time (tedious) but at least it won't harm the surrounding carpet.

Wow that's a first!

Just make sure you have a microfiber handy to wipe off the condensation that forms on the outside of the bag, otherwise I would say use the same procedure. It shouldn't be that bad actually.

Finish with your leather conditioner of choice once the gum is off.

I will try this tomorow...thanks...but...I have a bad feeling about the result...

the chewing gum is already hard...which makes the situation almost the same as I will use the ice...

will let you know though..and if there is no good result will come back to you..
Tomorow I will post a pic too!!!

A pic will help to determine how bad it is. If you can get the chewing gum cold enough it will become brittle and then break apart.

ICE !
Rub the gum with ice for about 30 secs. till it gets hard and usually it will peel off.
If that doesn't work, try petrol it's the best or lighter fluid.

Small amounts of WD40 can also help with removal.
