Default polishing 06 997S

I got a new PC for the holidays.
I have read many post but still not sure of what
type of pads and polish to use.
My paint is in good shape( Seal Gray) but I think it
still needs some polishing. I have be using
Zaino since it was new.
What type of pads and polish would you recommend
for my car.
Thanks have a Healthy New Year
Curt

I would try a white LC pad with the Zaino ZPC since that is what you are already using. Tape off a section of the hood and see how it works, when you are happy use the same process on the rest of the car. If you need something a little stronger use Menzerna IP or SIP w/ a orange pad, then follow with ZPC and a white pad.

Work with a 2'x2' section. With ZPC you will use very little, put 4 small pea sized drops on the pad. A sprtitz of Z6 on the pad will help. Spread it out, then start at 4 on the pc to work it in a bit. Move up to speed 6 and make slow passes (1" per sec) with some pressure.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Curt,

Since you have the Zaino try that if you need something stronger go with what GM said and step up to some menzerna...let me know if you need any products we stock the line.

Are the orange pads the only way to go for removing swirls and fine scratches? Does lake country have anything stronger/firmer?

Phil
I used the white LC pads and Zaino ZPC
It worked very well to remove some hazyness
in the paint
It was very easy to do. I used a little to much polish
the first time but after that it was fine

I'm using Menzerna SIP and 085rd polish with the porter cable. Orange pad first and then I cant decide between the white or the grey pad from lake country.

Is the yellow cutting pad firmer then the white pad?

my orange pad doesnt look like the orange pad on this site. My pad doesnt have holes in it..

Curt,

very cool let me know how it goes on your next shot at the car but if there is haziness, you probably have to work on breaking down the polish a bit more after that you will get rid of it. Seems like you have done that though.

Actually the yellow one is a bit softer but much more coarse then the orange pad, the whole are there so that they hold more product when you need a little more product just push done, gimmicky maybe

The yellow pad is much more aggressive than the white.

So it would look like from aggressive to fine
yellow, orange, white, blue, and black.

Let me know if you have more questions.

thanks Phil, I plan on trying out some yellows and maybe some more orange and white. I have the 6.5" ones but thinking I should get the smaller 4" ones. Might be a little easier on the curves...

the 4's are great hit me up or hit up the website for them, you would need a 3.5 inch backplate as well.
