Default Opti-seal on wheels!!!!

Since I got my 18" CIII wheels I always put rejex on them to keep them shiney and reduce brake dust.....after switching to Opti-seal on the paint of the 928 I figured I would try opti-seal on the wheels.....WOW....super slick....I drove a few miles but the amount of dust is way lower than rejex....much shinier too...we'll see how it holds up!!

Wow, nice! I was going to rejex my rims, but now maybe I'll try my Poli-Seal. Although rejex is made to resist extreme heat. Not sure how long another wax would hold up.

Did you remove the rims and clean them off the car, to get the insides clean like that?

Andy
I used to rejex my rims twice a year......I was quite happy with the results until I found opti seal...the opti seal seems to reduce dust even more than the rejex did..... I never thought to try poli seal on the rims....it does have a touch of cleaner which should polish the wheels a bit.....I don't think poli-seal would last longer than rejex though...... between poli-seal and rejex I would use rejex until the opti seal arrives!

When I wax the rims I do pull them off the car to give them a full cleaning......every time I wash the car I use a microfiber glove to get inside the rims....so they look the same everytime I wash the car....yes I am a freak...but the open design of the CIII wheels are really easy to clean.....I just hate seeing a "clean" wheel that is disgusting in the inside 1/4" away

I agree - I hate seeing gunk on the inside of my rims when the outside is clean! I'll probably Rejex the rims next chance I get to take them off. Twist rims are not as easy to clean as your 5-spokes. On the plus side, you don't see the inside dirt as much.

Really nice Shark, BTW!

On my old 16" flatdish I never cleaned inside the rims, since you really couldn't see it......but man were they filthy....I mean fossilized brake dust in there that would not come off......

Those flat dish rims are terrible! So completely un-sporty!

I have old wheel weight stickers on the rear insides of my rims! PITA to get off on the car. I'll have to learn to put my 996 on jack stands without fear before I can remove the rims to clean them!

Ok... so where do you get the Rejex &/or the Opti seal? Need to clean-up my Super Cups!

Thanks

Once you clean the wheels and put either rejex or optiseal on them......you will be SO impressed with the lack of dust...wheels clean up much easier too!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A month later, after about 500 miles & an autocross I washed the wheels..... I would say there was a noticeable amount LESS dust than when I rejexed the wheels!! The wheels still had a nice smooth feel to them too!
