In the four years ive had my GTS living in River North I received one ticket after parking in the street outside Lincoln Hall for not having a front plate. They used to go into parking structures and even people’s garages to ticket. They stopped doing that about three years ago when people started suing the city.
I dont drive with one on but when I park on the street I toss this thing on. Love the coincidence that it’s an IL plate.

On the heels of my previous post about Rennology I just received this email from them after receiving a previous email about them closing, from Donna, that recommended I send my business to PKW Motorwerks. What a circus:
Hi Nate,
Your personal information may have been stolen.
Recently, emails were sent to customers of Rennology purporting to be from Donna and making recommendations for PKW Motorwerks of Plainfield.
I want to inform you that this is a scam and that no one from Rennology, including Donna, would ever recommended work on your car be performed by the dishonest people at PKW.
It would appear that your personal information was stolen by Jason Klann and is subsequently be used by him.
The fake email impersonating Donna and the theft of your personal information speaks volumes to the integrity of the two individuals concerned. I would certainly not trust them with my car.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I’ve been running front plates since I started getting parking tickets at ORD 10 years ago they never let up even when you park tight to the wall!
Working on nice turbo this week that just came out of storge. Plenty of air leaks! Time to freshen up the rubber lines.
That O'Hare ticketing sounds like City of Chicago Machine raising funds to run their machine and funds to buy votes. O'Hare would never be part of Chicago of it weren't for gerrymandering. It's not even connected. But it is typical of urban corruption across America. JMHO, but I'm sticking.to it...
Might have to check out Geneva, closer to me vs fuelfed in winnetka
FuelFed is fun but not as Porsche oriented. My Geneva recollection is you can find parking not far from the Porsche Corral, and with other enthusiasts if you arrive earlier in the AM.
I'm guessing is a big Porsche Corral this year because it's is celebr the 70th Anniversary of Porsche.
The Geneva show does not open to the Public till 10:00 AM. The Porsche Corral folks are supposed to be parked by 9:00 (why so early? I don't know). A guess is you can find a decent parking space with other car enthusiasts if you look around there by 9:30. If you're there by 9:00 and the have space left in the Porsche Corral, they might let you in for the $20 donation. I'll be parked in the Porsche Corral. But this is all a guess on my part...
I only ever use my tow-hook plate mount when at the Valet at ORD, especially at the end of the month... In ~5yrs, I have yet to get a front plate ticket except when street parking downtown or at ORD...
Went to the Luftgruppe event in Winnetka last weekend - awesome show, great turnout!
Not sure if you guys saw but Rennology closed. https://www.rennology.com/
Richard was nice when I'd see him at ABCC but I had them restore a set of calipers I was going to put on my car and they totally botched it. I don't want to turn this into a 'dump on Rennology' thread but I'm not surprised this happened.
Check the website...there may be some "in show" parking if you get there early. Also, early in the day there's lots of parking around Randolph Street as it's mostly restaurants that done open until later in the day!
