My other car is a Mk6 Golf R with a GTX2867R...and it was all built and custom tuned by VAST. Those guys are amazing. Gonna put it on the dyno soon and find out the actual numbers.
Woodward is a BLAST in the summer on Saturdays. My son just says wow seeing all those cars lol

lol When I was down there Saturday Zack showed me the cars they are building there... wow!!! There was a black golf there that they were building for 600whp as a daily driver I don't think they had a car there that was not over 500hp. They are going to look at my Porsche(1999 that no one likes to tune) for me as well. Zack thinks they might be able to tune it for me lol

The TT they did some work on for me according to Zack should make about 350bhp. Super cool guys and really know there stuff.

It is a blast to drive and just wants to go and go and go. I love it!

Yeah, Zach always has some great cars in the shop and I enjoy picking their brains about builds and parts and tuning.

Welcome to the thread. Looking forward to seeing whatever new toy you acquire!

Track day update for me...
First event of the year is going to be Saturday May 4th at Grattan. Event is hosted by Midnight Protective Films. They did the window tint and protective film on my car. Apparently going to be combination track day and car show. Likely to be some nice cars there for show and go. I saw an update about someone tracking their brand new Huracan Performante! Will be nice to see a supercar out of the garage.

so one quick question to you guys knowing more about it already....how bad it the IMS issue?
I talked to Gil at VAST and he recommended to stay away from the M96/ M97 engines.
And I found a real gorgeous 991 in the classifieds which peaked my interest but I don't wanna limit myself if there is no reason for it.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

install the LN ims bearing and problem solved, or buy a car that already has the LN bearing thats what i did there are lots of them out there

lots of people have done nothing but thats a little risky with the cost of an engine replacement

That's exactly what I am worried about...to buy one and then have an engine failure. The 996 I am looking at does not have it done yet, so I will price it out and see if it would be even worth it.

Welcome and pre-congrats on your P-car purchase!

As for the 996/997 engine issues, as it has been stated...Get a good PPI and then take care of the IMS issue (if it is not already done). Then you are in as good of shape as any other 911. I have 2 996s, and don’t worry about either of them. Fantastic to drive and unbeatable for value (IMO). Not sure where you live, but good places for PPIs near me are Arbormotion/Renstatt (Ann Arbor) and Automotive Techniques (Novi). Enjoy!
