If you have a PCM5-equipped vehicle (MH2p hardware version) and are an Android household, you're in luck! No need to pay someone hundreds of $$$ to enable it.
This mod has been available for a year but this release fixes a bug in the PCM that messed up the ability to switch between multiple Android phones (or back and forth between iphone and Android).
The process is very easy...download and extract the modkit to a formatted SD card, add the Android Auto mod file, pop into the SD slot in your console, wait a few minutes and you're good to go!
If you havent seen these mods before, be sure to add one of the full screen options at the same time
Thousands of people have already safely installed PCM mods over the past year; there is no risk of bricking your screen.
@finpat997 is referring to an addition made by @fifthBro that enables multiple Android devices to work seamlessly with PCM 5. That did not previously work. For those that have installed the old version, simply install the new version over it and multiple Android devices (or one device wired and with a wireless dongle) will "just work"!
@CarmineS@fifthBro do you know if it is possible to hack something that uses the same update mechanism to put something into car's harddrive so that it runs a script disable auto start/stop every time pcm boots? Where should one start?

That is controlled by a different module (not MH2p). The auto start/stop setting is remembered between startups on my US Macan. It is likely the coding on a different module.

I assumed MH2P was the infotainment module - auto start/stop can be controlled from screen but Cayenne's (at least some model years) does not remember the last setting, and there's a separate OBD module have car "remember" it. https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...ry-module.html
I assumed it'd potentially be possible to send a command to the module just like touching on the screen would.
First, @finpat997 and any others that contributed, thanks for the mod kit files, they are awesome!!!! I have a stupid question, if I have installed the "windowed" full screen mod, and if I later decide that I want the true FULL SCREEN Mod (not windowed), do I need to uninstall the "windowed" mod, or can I just add the true full screen mod to the existing installation. Hopefully this makes sense.
As a second question, I am an android user and will use the Android Auto mod. Can I add the apple CarPlay mod for future use? Or is it one or the other. Hopefully this makes sense.

No need to uninstall what is already there. Installing the true full screen mod will overwrite the setting for the windowed full screen (or vice versa if you go the other direction), just make sure you dont have both mods on the SD card as you can only have 1 of the 2 options at a time.

You can have both as they are independent features.

Ah, on my Macan it isn't controlled from the screen. Sounds like it would be possible on your Cayenne, just requires some development work.
@finpat997 I have installed the Android Auto and Windowed Full screen, smooth install. Using the USB cable with my phone it has worked flawlessly, so THANK YOU!
I decided to try a wireless adaptor, I found a decent one on Amazon, plugged in to my USB 1 port and it worked perfectly for a few weeks, it was MAGIC! lol then one day it stopped working, the car keeps connecting and disconnecting from the device, I followed all the steps, resetting, forgetting etc, and nothing, meanwhile a wired connection still works perfectly. So I tried a different manufcatuer for wireless, and nothing same issue, the PCM will not recognize it. Curious if you may have any thoughts on this issue?
amazing! this is working perfectly for me. I have an android which I use via the usb cable, and an iPhone which is connected using a Carlinkit 5 wireless dongle! both work with the full screen mod too! Super happy with this!
