Default Lease Rates

Hi All,

Does anyone have the current Money Factor for a Cayenne Coupe E Hybrid? I was just quoted 0.00430 which is a 10.32% interest rate. Seems pretty ridiculous but I'm more familiar with BMW rates so maybe this is par for the course. Thank you for the help,

Tony

Informally I've heard they're around ~.00350 as the buy rate this month, so it seems they're juicing it a bit for you.

For comparison BMW buy rate is .0018 v Porsche @ .0035 which is absurd. That’s where I draw the line and went back to an X5.

Thank you for the responses. Even at .0035 it's still a crazy rate, I can see why you would go back to an X5.

@marascoa I get that Porsche is special and is superior in ways but the Porsche “tax” hits you from all sides. My X5 M60i @ $103k was $25k less than a similarly equipped Cayenne S and about the same price as a well optioned base Cayenne. Not to mention a substantial dealer discount plus factory incentives. The Cayenne simply ain’t that much more car.

E-Hybrid Cayennes are hot right now, they don't have to give you aggressive lease rates as they sell everyone they can get their hands on - base / S / Turbo. If its Hybrid, its sold in a day or two if they happen to have one in stock. But there are not many Cayennes of any model sitting on lots for long, they move fairly briskly. I don't follow the BMW X5 market, but there Hybrid is a very nice vehicle that is considerably less costly. I know a few people that have them and they do like them, it's a good choice if you can't get the deal you want on a Porsche. I belong to both BMWCCA and PCA and have owned X5's in the past, plus driven their newer models at their Thermal CA facility. I prefer the Cayenne enough to pay the extra for it, and am lucky enough where the money factor isn't an impact on my choice, so it's all about your comfort zone financially. If I did want to stay under 6 figures for a Hybrid, the X5 would be my choice however.

The rates they quoted you are probably that high because your dealer is unhappy that they have to provide you the $7500 tax credit towards the EV lease upon purchase. I was able to negotiate a $1k discount, plus a lower money factor than my dealer initially provided. After I complained that rate was madness they offered me a rate that was lower, and also showed me the Porche Credit document with their current rate at that time which, of course, was lower than their initial offer. Then they tried to stick me with $980 in costs related to the 2021 we had been leasing, even though we had qualified for the Porsche Credit loyalty forgiveness. I also noted that the amount Porsche Credit included as the capitalized cost was lower than the MSRP. And I got them to deduct the negotiated discount against thet price. FYI, we ordered our 2024 Cayenne eHybrid in April 2023, and took delivery in August 2024.

Disappointing to read this when you were replacing an existing Porsche Lease. The majority of the members here are very loyal and own multiple Porsche’s and I keep on reading instances where the loyalty is not returned. I love these cars but this may be one area where the other German brands have them beat.

Porsche Loyalty? HA! I don't think it exists. Porsche is loyal to one thing only, Benjamin Franklins, and lots of them.

I've owned Porsche for 45 years now, I get a pen here and there.

I heard back from the Austin dealership and they were unwilling to negotiate the MF or CPO price. It's s a good build sheet but the pricing and lease rate do not make any type of sense to move forward. Thank you all for he help!

Porsche loyalty? That is like thinking any dealership is your friend. Unless you are a celeb or in the inner circle, they won't care or pay attention to you until people stop paying the "Porsche Tax". A lot of people here own multiple Porsches and will continue to pay money for what is a good product and they will continue to do so until the product is no longer worth what they are paying. Loyalty begins when you continue to pay top dollar for an inferior product because you are "loyal". Porsche hasn't put out an inferior product yet in my opinion and that is why people keep buying them.

I don't think he's referring to goodwill from the dealer.
There's an actual PFS program called "Loyalty Waiver Program" and the "End of Term Lease Loyalty Program":
