This is my first Porsche and I was coming from a SUV so in order to ease my better half into getting to a 911 in the nearish term I figured the TGT was as close as I could get. Panamera - thought about but wanted the SUV form factor still. And I’ve enjoyed the performance SUV category to have fun while still transporting the family. I actually had a 2023 AMG GT63 ordered and it came in at the wrong time for me to take delivery so I released it and it sold the next day. The replacement is the TGT (replaced a ‘21 GLS63).

911 is likely my replacement for the TGT.

Yeh, do you miss your 911? It is kinda pathetic that I think bout getttng in and out of my 911...but it does happen ha. At mid 40's...maybe I should try yoga. So that's what got me thinking about a GT. I want a little more excitement in my drive. I've got a base '23 carrerra right now...and while it's an amazing car, I think between the difficulty getting in and out (not that big of a deal but it's noticeable) and the lack of an "experience" when driving slow around town...got me thinking the GT might be the right fit. I've got three kids, and so getting in and out of the GT would definitely be easier. I remember when I had the panamera turbo S, I missed my 911...so I'm trying to avoid the same scenario. I think the GT might have the right blend of crazy and daily driving. Thoughts?

Wow that is crazy to hear! So you have a TGT and a GT4? How do they compare? I wouldn't think they would be close to being similar but sounds like I might be really surprised by the GT.

Of course I miss the 911, but with hip surgery and the fact I am 6ft 3 the getting in and out became too much. You will have a blast with the TGT. It can be a sedate daily driver, but when you want it that explosive power is there on tap when you need it. The red boost button can provide as much excitement as a 911. I also prefer the TGT transmission versus the PDK in the 911 there could at times be very abrupt downshifts from 2 to 1.

One downside (maybe the one and only downside) to the TGT is that it only seats 4.

Yeh that's not a deal breaker to me. Heck, I've been trying to talk myself into a R8 or AMG. GTR lol. Thanks again to everyone for offering their thoughts

That said, I believe the fronts are 275 40 R21.

(The winter wheels are 2023 model RS Spyders. You can see the design differences as compared to the ‘24s if you look closely.)
As far as I know MY’24 Cayennes winter tires sizes are 285/45 and 305/40 for 21 inches
That means your fronts are 4,5% less in diameter than it have to and the rears are 3,8% less

Quick question: for those that have driven/owned the ‘24…is there a big difference between the ‘22 and ‘24 model? Thanks

24 is the 9Y0.2, with substantial changes in front end, suspension, interior. Slight bump in power, larger circumference tires. Love my 24 TGT, unbelievable how it performs like a sport car/911 and still is a 5K pound SUV with good daily practicality. Kudos to the GT department, as the prior turbos never were this good.

they are very similar driving, both superb. Driving a used 23 is what turned my crank, and I do like the changes for 24.

Today I installed a Pedal Commander on my 24 Turbo GT. I have had my TGT for a little over 3 weeks and driven about 1200 miles. Until today, I was pretty underwhelmed with the delayed response to throttle inputs. I have used a Pedal Commander in some previous vehicles - including a Macan GTS - with outstanding results and thought I should give it a go in the TGT.

WOW, what a difference! The TGT now feels like it should, in my opinion. No more hesitation between depressing the gas pedal and getting a response. There is no more power than before, but it sure feels like a fire-breathing dragon has been added under the hood.

Driving around in Normal mode is now actually enjoyable. Sport is still better, but the difference is MUCH less drastic. I can see the unit paying for itself shortly in saved fuel costs because I will actually now use Normal mode (at least some of the time).

If you have been even slightly unhappy with throttle response in your vehicle, I strongly urge you to give the Pedal Commander (or another throttle-adjusting device) a try. I have no affiliation with Pedal Commander, but have been a satisfied customer for years.
