Default 9Y0 Cayenne Turbo 40,000 mile service $5000?

Was just quoted $4800 for the 40,000 mile service. Is this normal?

I got out the door for $4200 but my god that is expensive.

That sounds like a lot ! I called my local dealer and got quotes for 30k and 40k - just to see what it would cost - no one quoted that much for my 21 GTS and I can’t imagine their service costs are that much different . I recall more like 3000ish each

Please post a copy of the service invoice with your personal information redacted. Spark plugs are (unnecessarily) expensive, if this was included in your service. Oil change, for what it is, is unnecessarily expensive.

Regular maintenance on these cars is dead easy, no different than any German vehicle. Indy or DIY is the way to reduce maintenance cost if this is a goal.

My 40K was $781, and the 50K was $661 , both done at an independent shop. He quoted me $1400-1600 for the 60K with doing the spark plugs.

Stratham Porsche wanted to charge me $2800 for the 40K , 1600 for the 50K and $6675 for the 60K.. told the service manager to stop smoking crack and he'll never see my vehicle again unless it's towed there by Porsche Roadside.

Just had my 40k recently which revealed, upon the routine inspection, that my ‘19 S needed needed new brakes. This added roughly another $3k. Sounds like some of those estimates might be including brake replacement cost and some are just quoted as brake inspection.

Did you check if thats for periodic maintenance only? Or does it include brake pads and other items?

How much did this dealer charge you for the 30K service? I was charged $1,500 for the 30K service for a Turbo including the spark plugs.

I'm getting the same quote in SWF - $4700
Oil & filter, plugs, air filter and brake fluid flush. The ceramic brakes are low maintenance otherwise. Some sites recommend replacing coils as well at 30k miles.
It's the turbos that are expensive... I'm considering doing the maintenance myself, but it seems pretty daunting.
With the coils its $900 in parts & fluids through a performance site catering to Audi/Porsche/VW.

Any advice?

Something is going on with the dealers over the last few years; the prices have crept into the stratosphere. It has motivated me to handle the more mundane tasks with my wife's and my Porsche.

Cabin filters, oil changes, the engine filter, brakes (eventually) and spark plugs. She drives the Panamera, so the spark plugs is an entirely different story than on my CTT. That said, you can mitigate a lot of these costs dramatically yourself, or take to an independent. Dealers are great for warranty work, but after that, may the Lord help you.

Coils at 60k, but I would inspect them closely at 30k, they tend to be increasingly subject to fail as you pile on the miles.

Brake fluid flush is something that can be done by yourself, if you like. Personally, that can be a messy job, and I'm happy to source that one out to an independent. The rest you could likely do yourself.

Given you have a turbo, the V8, it takes up just a little bit more room under the hood thereby requiring you to remove the cross member, but that's literally six screws and it comes right off. Other than that, it's the same as the V6. I'll be posting my video as soon as I have time to stitch and edit it. Plan for about 2 hours total time, but it can be done in an hour.

Does work at an Indy or DYI void warranty? If not, what documents need to be kept to be keep the warranty intact. Does this work need to be reported to carfax

Indy shop maintenance at Porsche specified intervals and with Porsche-specified parts and materials (e.g. oil) does not void the warranty. Save the invoice noting mileage, date and part numbers used.

Thanks for replying!
Yes, finding videos for this generation + turbo to replace spark plugs is difficult.
For replacement components, I went on several OEM parts sites with little luck - I have found a lot of aftermarket performance upgrades - such as Iridium spark plugs and coils for ecu tunes etc... Are there better sources other than the APR site?

I saw a video on youtube of what is involved for just an oil change and thought ‘ NO THANK YOU. When I was in college and had no money, and spare time - wrenching on the car was fun. At 50, I don’t enjoy it and would rather someone else to do it and do it right. Look at this if you think you want to DIY…
