Default Hybrid battery warranty

I thought factory warranty was 8 year or 100k mile warranty, whichever comes first, I am on the phone with Porsche NA and Representative says she is showing 8 year or 80k mile not 100k mile.

Hmm, here is from the Porsche Fremont website, looks like 100K miles to me "...with a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid battery warranty or a Porsche Taycan battery warranty, you’ll actually enjoy longer coverage for your vehicle. High-voltagehybrid batteries are protected for up to 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first."

So is the High-Voltage Battery 80k or 100k?
Looking like its 100k also.

Interesting, I’ll attaché the link to the various warranties for 2023. But under the EHybrid it shows 100k miles for the high voltage battery, under the Taycan it shows 80k miles. Hope this helps.

From the official source: Page #5 of the New Car Limited Warranty, 2019 Model Year (all models):

https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...tion/warranty/

Note that each model year has a separate document and the Taycan warranties are different from all other models. Beginning 2023, hybrids have their own, distinct warranty document.

For 2021 and 2022 Taycans the high voltage battery warranty is 80k miles but 2023 is 100k miles. Clearly 2023 EHybrids are 100k miles as well, can't figure out earlier years but it may be 80k.

The 2019-2023 Cayenne e-Hybrid look to be 100k miles warranty (and 8 year) on the hybrid battery.

Theoretically if the hybrid battery dies, will the car still function just as an ICE vehicle?

I don’t think so. The hybrid doesn’t have a conventional starter. It uses the HV traction motor to start the ICE. I believe it also uses an electric air conditioning compressor.

no all sorts of things will not work - car requires a functional hybrid battery to run all systems and recharge the 12V battery

You are correct, 100,000 on 2019-2022 hybrids. It’s in the writeup not the table.

Very strange. I reached out to local dealership and gave them my VIN. The service advisor sent me a table showing that 2019 Cayenne e-Hybrid battery is covered for 8 years and 130,000 km, which translates to 80,000 miles. I do not know why there is a contradiction from the 2019 warranty manual which states that the battery is covered for 8 years and 100,000 miles.

I assume if you are getting quoted in km then you are outside the USA. You should look up your local market warranty guide. I'm betting it says 130,000 km. You cannot compare coverage between markets. The same goes for maintenance intervals. I know with my wife's Lexus the oil change interval was 10,000 miles for US market cars but 10,000 km for Canadian market cars.

I’m in USA. 130,000 km translates to 80,000 miles.
