I think it has potential, but need to see it on the car, in person.

Personally, I love it. I'm also a younger guy, though. Coming from a B9 S4 with fully digital dash, I miss that.

It's cool in comparison of others, such as MB, BMW and the likes. However, I'm a fan of my '21 GTS coupe styling, it's more true to the Porsche marque....

The new interior feels more like the ‘people mover’ minivan use case than the sports car one.

I want a sports car for four… not a minivan.

I don’t understand the obsession with having a large entertainment system for movies in the car but it makes a bit more sense if you are stuck charging it for an hour… As I understand it this was a big factor in the Tesla designs and it also why they double as a video game console.

Perhaps I am not the target demographic of Porsche anymore. I have felt increasingly isolated away from the new 911 offerings that feel like a conveyor belt of ‘limited editions’ that are all 200k plus and sold/flipped to VIPs or only acquired with outrageous ADMs or years long waits.

As a software engineer for 30 odd years I still love a good analog car experience. I guess it means I am being pushed out to pasture with <=991s to keep me company.

Default Do you have to go to a screen in order to change the ventilation?

Do you have to go to a screen in order to change the ventilation?

Is there an analog switch for adjusting the fan speed? The temperature?

Or do you have to go to digital menus on a screen?

No screen is required for normal functions.

The toggles look to control temperature and fan speed, as they do today. The fifth toggle in the middle looks to control perhaps A/C on / off?

Haptic functions look to include auto, sync, defrost / defog, seat head / cool, and recirc.

Dedicated haptic to get to the climate menu here, rather than in the row of other haptic "shortcuts".

And honestly, that's the only real difference to today's layout. Current layout below has pretty much the same functionality, just spread out more on either side of the shifter, and the haptic controls are a bit spread out more as well.

Again, to me this is the big win vs. the current setup. I am not a fan of the controls being "hidden" on the other side of the shifter. For instance I had no idea there was a haptic button for recirc, and was searching through the climate screen and was wondering why all I found was "Auto off/on" and my wife said "it's right here" and pointed. I never even saw it behind the shifter from the driver's seat.

Not bad, but if it saves me eleven f’ing dollars from getting a color I really want, then it’s the best.

I agree. LOVE the 991 - the best modern 911 platform. Own a '21 Cayenne GTS and it seems like these are the last of the greatest as well. I'm not fond of the updated interior. I also adore my E39 M5's. The last of the analog drivers sedans and to this day they are tight and no rattles.

After viewing the video, thank you diss7 for posting, I now understand some of the logic for the layout. It was mostly about a place to charge and store the phone. Moving the gear shift opened up the space. It’s a nice to have but not a critical item for me. I do believe Porsche could have figured out a push button transmission, like Aston Martin, which would look much better than a **** hanging on the dash. Moving the climate controls to the center console is a good move, less time with the PCM screen. Would prefer something other than the chrome buttons as they reflect the sun. The digital tech is fine, at least now it can be a color without a $500 box to check. Not ready to end the left side key, just isn’t right.

This driver's instrument cluster has its own class. Pure gold. Nothing can beat this analog display, the taycan kind of digital instrument cluster looks like taken out from Mini cooper

Don't like the swoop on top of the instrument binnacle.

Don't like the matte uncoated cheap plastic seat control buttons. These started appearing on some models in 2020-2021. 2019-2020 seat control buttons are bright/"chrome". More corner cutting.

Compared to the u-loop pre-facelift interior door release handles, the facelift straight-blade handles look very Volkswagen.

What do Porsche people hate the most? Change. This is a big change for the Cayenne. I have mixed feelings on it. I don't like the shifter either, however remember when the 5th Gen Ram came out? Everyone hated that circle shifter. As did I. Now I own one, it took some getting used to but it's not horrible.

The stop start looks cheap, however I always did wish Porsche did a real stop start, the half dummy key always reminded me of my 05 G35 back in 05....

As much as I'm not a huge fan of the new compressed center buttons, I think they're better then having the blank buttons for the options you didn't get. Like if you got the Race tex seats in the current gen you couldn't get cooled seats. However you'd get a blank button.

I think this Cayenne has potential, we're going to need to see it in person with the options everyone wants.
