Any discount on Cayenne now? (Houston Are)
Hi folks,
Anybody in Houston bought Cayenne base recently?
is there still discount on 2022 Cayenne base?
On Mar.2020 I had a chance to get a Cayenne Base with 12% off MSRP on Houston North Porsche.
Then Coivd-19 came and my company let everyone work from home so I didn't buy it.
Will be back to office probably next month. So I started to search Cayenne on Cars.com this morning again.
Surprised there is no inventory Cayenne Base at all
I guess now it is impossible to get any discount on Cayenne base, correct?

Discount? Are you kidding? Kia Tellurides are selling for $10k over. Hell try buying a $25k Ford Maverick for under $40k.
discount? Seriously?
sorry. But there are no discounts on the car market today. Best you can do is MSRP. Likely MSRP with some forced extras like tint and service plan.

I'll be the first one to admit my sins. Yes, I paid $7,500 over MSRP for a Turbo GT. Deal was last Sept, took delivery about 6 weeks ago. At the time dealer near me that I had done business before, offered MSRP, but had no allocations. I happily paid my Sucker Tax, and I believe this Sucker Tax is much higher now. There's nothing like entering your garage and seeing this wonderful vehicle there -- Sucker Tax and all.

‘Sucker tax’?
I don't see it that way at all. If you are paying 140-200+ for a vehicle than lets face it — the purchase is all about desire and not need…
So what’s an extra 3-5% to get one in the short term and enjoy it? All those that paid up recently must feel a little bit vindicated as those that didn’t are now looking at an extra $4k for the MY23 MSRP… and they still don’t have their car in the garage.
Personally I refused to pay over msrp but that’s why I probably won’t see my car for an entire year or more from my start of this process.

placed the order early March for Cayenne Coupe with Porsche Houston North. Delivery in June. MSRP. No discounts but no market adjustments either. As expected, Porsche continues to offer by far the best experience and customer focus while MB across the street is charging 15k on top of MSRP for a GLE400

Wow wish your Houston Porsche dealership would train the south Florida dealers in offering 'the best experience and customer focus'

We felt lucky to pay MSRP for Cayenne Base loaded. Found it preordered by dealer, in Feb, just took delivery last week. It somehow managed to miss the two ship sinkings, and Ukraine wiring harness challenge. Dealer is no longer at MSRP for forseeable future with unsatisfied demand for some time.
Many luxury Denver dealer lots and showrooms are empty, with any high-end slightly used cars selling above sticker.

Funny I got roughly 10% off the sticker price just a few months ago at Porsche Bethesda. Not everyone is a sucker and not every dealer is charging above MSRP.
