Default Spark plugs

Heading up to 30,000 miles
Dealer quoted $800
Buying an $800 reset tool and DIY may be in my future

2020 base - anyone do this yet?

I believe the 2018 Audi S5 has the same 3.0T V-6 engine. Here’s a how-to for that engine:

Good post. Seems like he struggled a bit with the electrical harness and other items blocking access. Did he follow the Audi service technician procedure? Or was it a feel/figure it out method?

The video was more of a feel / figure procedure on the wiring harnesses. Otherwise, seemed to have the proper tools figured out. The link to the text and photo instructions details the proper way to unhook the harnesses. Together, the OP should have enough information to give it a go.

Got all the tools. BMW uses those spark plug sockets. Or at least the one I have is the right size.
I have a membership at PIWISTIS so the Porsche instructions with the toque specs will be there.

Just need to confirm the part number. And pray that the person who gave me the info for the tool knows what she is taking about. The cheapest tool that will work on a 2020 cayenne in the X431 ProS Mini

After my last $1000 service bill it's time for me to man up and figure this out

If more the cayenne stores what service was done when. I paid for a brake fluid change and the didn't mark it. I wonder how I can fix that.

You may also want to consider an independent. I think I remember you mentioning you're in Ohio (in a prior thread). I've used Steinels for servicing and typically they're less due to using OEM (Bosch parts) instead of Genuine (Bosch with Porsche logo on it). However, I was unable to find an OEM spark plug for this car. Only the genuine. When you mentioned above that you're looking to confirm the part number, do you mean for the plugs? Should be this part number.

Thank you. Steinels is 30 minutes from me. Only hear good things about them. Wife drives 35,000-40,000/year figuring out how to DIY and use FCP euro literally saved me $10,000 in maintenance vs the dealer (Macan currently has 165,000 miles). As often as she needs service it's easier and way cheaper if I do it.

If they can't guarantee the x431 can do it then I'll give Steinels a call.

Bingo! Thanks Bxtr. Part number is available at FCP for $30/each. Scanner is $750. So for an extra $100 if I can DIY every other one will be $20 for shipping.

Step 1 done. Confirmed the launch x431 Pros Mini was confirmed to work by the company. Paid $830 on Amazon. Could have paid a hundred or so less but want to be able to return it if it doesn't work.

Today going or download the instructions. The good news is Of this works I can start to do my own oil changes.

Step 2 failed. There is a new PIWIS TSI site. You have to register, confirm you are a business, and promise not to share. So I applied for access and waiting to hear back.

Well I am now a Porsche Partner network member. I think that means I can now access all Porsche repair documents. Downside is you have to agree not to share.

As our hero continues to respond to himself...

Everything ordered

Launch Pros mini $830
Spark plugs $180
1 hour to download instructions $17 at PPN

So to save $800, I just spent $1040

Will let you know how it goes

The TSI turned into the PPN. But when I put in my VIN all the information including service a s extended warranty come up. Pretty cool. Does not have a parts diagram I can follow.

Great posts. I’m following your progress with interest. You may find this link to exploded parts diagrams helpful:

https://www.lllparts.co.uk/en/catalogs/porsche/USA/9YA

Here’s a screenshot from that site:

Thanks. Those are the plugs I ordered. $29 each from FCP. TWhere did you get the pic? The Porsche website has the picture but the parts are not labeled.

Check out the link I posted. It takes you to the LLL Parts site which contains an expansive library of diagrams for Cayennes.

Here’s the landing page on which you select your model year: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/en/catalogs/porsche/USA/9YA

After selecting the year you will see the page, below. Careful, you can burn lots of time going through the diagrams. Quite educational, though!

EDIT: Here’s a link to the page with the cylinder head diagram I used for the screenshot:
