Badge off-center

Badge off-center
I have a new to me 2019 Cayenne S. Bought CPO with 6k miles a few months ago. Carfax was clean. I noticed last week the rear badging was slightly off-center. Any chance it came from the factory like this? I can’t imagine it would. I guess prior owner could have removed the badge and dealer reinstalled as part of their conditioning. Is that something they’d typically do. My concern is there was damage that didn’t show up on the carfax.

One unlikely reason: I once saw a 2018 Cayenne Turbo S with an off-center badge. As it turned out, the owner had glued an “S” next to the Turbo badge.
More likely: the badge was previously damaged and then reapplied by the dealer during the CPO inspection. This would not show up on the Carfax.
I have to be very careful when washing mine so that the sheepskin / chamois doesn’t catch the edge of the lettering. The badges seem to be delicate and prone to snagging when washing the vehicle.
For your reference I’ve attached photos of both a Cayenne and a Cayenne S rear badge. I added some alignment arrows on the Cayenne S for reference so you can compare yours to factory spec. If yours differs from the factory spec, you may wish to contact the dealer to see if they can make it right in accordance with CPO inspection standards.

"debadging" is still a thing, maybe the previous owner didn't like the badges and took them off? Possible I guess. I mean you can order the car debadged, it's one of the two free options if I recall.

I'm not sure if you have incredible expertise or access to an outstanding research capability, but either way I am once again impressed with the level of useful detail you bring to this forum. Thanks.

I purchased a 20 Turbo “exec car” with 1500 miles off the lot that was ordered with badge delete option.
I like mine badged so I ordered it ...$275 YIKES!
Anyway I was afraid I would not get it centered if I applied it myself, so I took it to the dealer recommended body shop. They applied it in 5 minutes using a template. PERFECT.
It may be that the car came badge delete, and then someone tried the same DYI eyeballing and didn’t get it quite centered. There is a reason the body shop used a template!!!

Are you able to check the original spec of the car to see of it has the badge delete option? I assume it would show up on the sticker.
Also could be ppf, but I would think you'd notice if the tailgate had ppf on it. They would likely remove the badge when applying it.

Turbo is a trim level now. Not a functional descriptor. Even a base Macan 4 cylinder has a turbo.
Having said that, it's your car, people have done far worse. Like drive with their extendable wing up all the time.

Back in the 1980's, I bought several adhesive Porsche shield emblems at the local dealership and sent them to my naval officer brother-in-law at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station to stick on the Ford Pinto he had been trying to sell. I got this bright idea from the Pinto's bright orange paint being similar to the orange that was fairly common on the 911 back then. The newly christened PORSCHE PINTO sold quickly.
