Tire pressure monitoring

I had a similar issue, to the point where I replaced my old gauge with a new digital one (there are lots of cheap ones out there, but found a brand on Amazon named Jaco and it seems fine so far). Since then, the car reports the same pressure as what I inflated.

This has been going on for 6 months at least .
about once a month it will come on. I will check and it has 35-36 lbs , will fill to 38 then it will go down again . I don’t understand why tpms is so sensitive that it comes in with as little as 2 lbs low

Or the sensors are not reading what your handheld gauge is measuring?
Sensors are designed to give out reading of 1psi increment.
I am driving a loaner right now and at 33psi, it didn’t give out any warning.

I don’t think there is a slow leak in both front tires . I just don’t understand why the warning light comes on at 36lbs front and 38 rear ? I fully expect the tires to fluctuate a couple of pound either way

I used to go crazy from this problem with another Porsche and after my dealer changed a setting the warning never came back on. I think (but am not sure) that he changed it from performance to comfort pressure which allows a lower tire pressure before the warning reading goes off. That change is described in the manual.
Selecting comfort pressure or standard pressure
The tire pressures can be reduced to enhance comfort.
With comfort pressure, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System automatically uses lower required pressures for tire pressure monitoring.
I assume what he did was fill them to the standard pressure levels but the comfort setting lets them drop to the comfort pressure levels before setting off the monitor, giving the tires a little more margin for pressure to decrease with temperature changes.
CAR / CONTROL / Vehicle settings / Tire pressure monitoring / Comfort pressure
choices:
Comfort pressure - Comfort pressure is activated.
Comfort pressure - Standard pressure is activated.
Adjust tire pressures to comfort pressure or standard pressure.

On the topic of tire pressure, does anyone have enough mileage on a 9Y0 to comment on tire wear? On M-B, the factory specified tire pressure results in early and uneven tire wear on the GLS/GLE platform.

Interested in a response to Your question as well; i have the oem Scorpions on my cayenne s and when i purchased the suv at about 10,000 miles, i asked a Porsche service writer if I should rotate the tires every 5-10k miles as well—he said most people see pretty even wear. I removed a front tire to see; yep—no abnormal wear visible. I’m pretty **** about maintaining correct tire pressures....
