PDCC - do you have it on your Cayenne and what is your opinion?

Yes that is exactly how the two work together. I normally drive with Air in the lowest (sport) setting, with the PDCC it is a very comfortable ride.

So, just to understand, the air suspension stiffness and the suspension height are two different settings (and on top of that PDCC) ? On the panamera it is, so wondering if the cayenne too.

What dasams said, PASM is stiffness, air is height, PDCC controls the anti-roll bar system. On the Cayenne, PASM comes with Air, so stiffness and height would be adjustable with just Air ordered.

BTW, its a real pity that the Cayenne doesn't have the door option of the stepless opening, as the panamera does. Its one of the best inventions IMHO. No accidental slamming doors into cars or obstacles.

I have it on my 2020 E Hybrid, but honestly it isn't a must have at all. I test drove both with and without through curves, on-ramps, freeways, rough toads and city streets. In most situations PDCC is an incremental improvement but in some it's a degradation relative to what I like and it is one more complex system. Without PDCC Cayennes are still incredibly nimble and handle like sports cars. Opinions based on ownership but not comparison may be more confirmation bias than useful.

I passed on PDCC since my build was at $130k and and I knew that I'd be typically driving on low height (and it's 10 mm lower than other Cayennes) meaning reduced suspension travel. Also, for spirited driving, I'd have damping on Sport + further reducing suspension travel. But then again, as RM noted above, my reasoning could well be a demonstration of confirmation bias

I think the Cayennes handle pretty well for an SUV in base form. I don’t think air suspension or PDCC are critical. I drove versions with and without. I would recommend PASM if buying a base. You really can’t make a bad decision whether adding suspension options or not.
If money is no object, load it up with suspension options. Should handle even better and doesn’t hurt anything other than your wallet and long term reliability. Trading the car every 4 years or buying an extended warranty would address potential reliability concerns.

Whereas a tall SUV rolling while cornering (and again, this might not be a spirited drive, could just be a twisty road or a high way sweeper that dictates a certain min speed to maintain momentum) is actually a comfort issue in my mind, especially for passengers. I ordered it for comfort - I opt out of PDCC in 911s.

I actually disagree with him on this - I don’t think it’s a performance or track oriented option per say; I prefer my sports cars and their suspension feedback pure - I want to feel exactly how the car turns in, takes a set, and how/why it rotates w my inputs through the corner, without any active suspension trickery.
*Speaking strictly from track only driving, not on road performance driving.

I have the air suspension (no PDCC) and really don’t feel the car roll much at all. Can’t imagine much of an incremental benefit from the PDCC, and it’s one more thing to break.

I have the PDCC on my Turbo and I think it is amazing. The vehicle is super flat, almost no body roll, feels natural too! I had a Macan S loaner for 2 months without PDCC and it felt like a total boat, huge body roll compared to my Cayenne Turbo with PDCC. Very, very glad I have it.
