IS SPORTS EXHAUST WORTH THE COST

I test drove a CTT with the sport exhaust, sounded glorious. Then I ended getting another one without it and now I am kicking myself for not doing it. It completely changes the character of the car. With it is like driving an exotic, without it a Camry...Arggg now I NEED an aftermarket. Comparing to some out there the price of the option is not bad.

I have a 2015 GTS, I rarely drive without the Sports exhaust turned on, its amazing. I test drove a CTT without one, and despite being a v8 it sounded way too sedate. I would not own a CTT without one... (Mine is on order WITH one)

I hear more engine intake noise than exhaust noise when I turn on the PSE on my Turbo. Maybe that has to do with the noise insulating glass, or maybe it’s the fake noise they pump in through the speakers...

I like the sound my Macan S makes when you first start it up. Then soon it becomes a quiet ***** cat, but the ability to out accelerate most copy cat SUVs on the road. Who needs a sport exhaust?

"There’s just one problem with the new GTS: You can’t really hear how great it is, despite the standard sport exhaust. Standing in pit lane, waiting to hit the track, it was easy to miss the Caymans blasting by without listening closely. Even inside the cabin, the fat-four is muted, despite a speaker behind the back seat that subtly amplifies the snarl."

2015 Cayenne S E hybrid may or may not pump sound in to the cabin but it does have a speaker in the air filter that mimics the engine sound. The tac is on zero and the engine sounds as if it running and revving but is not.

Yep. A quiet Porsche is like having a quiet Harley Davidson. The louder the pipes on either, the better. You'll love it. Every time you crank that Cayenne you'll have forgotten the price.

I test-drove a 2020 BMW M5 Competition the other day -- thinking about my next car. Besides being completely unimpressed with it in every way, the fakey engine noise was totally obvious. Why anyone feels the need to jack around with the glorious notes of a V8 engine, twin-turbo or not, I'll never understand.

Porsche does not do artificial noises through the speakers like BMW and some others but they do intentionally pump in real, mechanical sound on some cars. I know for example that all 911's have this but I don't know about the SUV's.

dont cheap out on PSE - if you plan to sell it at the end of its lifetime to a private party - they may say "damn I would be all over this, only iff it had the PSE" lol
if you are going to trade it in to a dealer by all means dont get it if you dont care for it!
but honestly, its a very subjective question - its not worth it to me because I can only hear faint exhaust notes with my windows rolled up! aka, noise insulated glass!
