Snow tires for new Cayenne Turbo
Looking for input on a set of snow tires for my new Cayenne Turbo equipped with the staggered 21" tires. Have had great luck with Blizzak's, but it appears they may not have the proper sizes. Has anyone looked into snow tires yet? Appreciate your thoughts and findings.

Have you considered the OEM winter wheel and tire packages? These come with Pirelli Scorpion Winter tires currently in close to OEM all-season / summer sizes (just 10 mm narrower front and rear). You could go as small as 20" with the PSCB, or 21" with PCCB.

The easiest is just buy a set of square (non-staggered) wheels and tires (probably cheaper than the 21" tires by themselves). BTW, staggered sizes are just not a good solution for winter driving (I had staggered winters on my R8 for the one winter I foolishly decided to drive it and the oversteer on snow was crazy). Square is much better for driving in snow because: 1. Same size means that the wider rears won't float as much in the snow causing oversteer, 2. Same size front and rear means that the fronts clear a track for the rears reducing resistance and increasing traction. I put the OZ Racing Ultraleggera in 275/45-20 with Pirelli Scorpion Winter (great tires) I had from my 2011 Cayenne 'S' on my 2019. The offsets are perfect front and rear and the overall diameter is correct for the 2019/2020 Cayenne. As a rule, narrower tires work better in winter conditions and 275 is a pretty good compromise. After driving on them January-April in Calgary I can tell you they fit and work great.

Tire Rack for tires and wheels. I wouldn't waste money at the dealership on OEM Porsche wheels or their markup for tires. Wherever or whatever you buy, make sure you get TPMS installed. I made the mistake of thinking I was OK with the sensors in the wheels off my old 2011 Cayenne 'S' but I was wrong. They are still 433 MHz, but Porsche changed the handshaking so they old ones don't work. They need to be newer than 2014 (I think). HUF are the OEM provider and these work RDE018.

Charcharius, sorry I didn't see that you are in Calgary (I am too BTW). Tire Rack is a still a good choice but you will need to factor in the cost of shipping, and customs duty. Tire Rack calculates and will provide you with these costs prior to checkout. The advantages of Tire Rack are they do the tire mounting, balancing and TPMS installation for free. Also the TPMS sensors are only ~US$50/sensor vs. C$200/sensor from Calgary Porsche. When ordering you will need to choose 2018 Cayenne (instead of 2019) if you want to get a square wheel/tire setup vs the 2019 staggered setup. I bought an OEM Porsche winter wheel and tire package. Then the car is on great looking OEM wheels even in the winter snow.

Thanks Guys. Those OZ look nice. Makes me miss the HRE P40L I had on my 2016 S. Sigh. I bought them through TunerWorks in CGY - will see what they carry too and update this thread.

That's certainly one way to go. For me, it's too damn cold in the winter here in Calgary to stand around looking at and admiring my wheels. Not to mention the effort to keep them clean. In any case, with 20" O.Z. Racing Ultraleggera's in Gunmetal (photo below) with 275/45-20 with Pirelli Scorpion Winter tires, I don't feel the look of the vehicle suffers too much.

The stock setup are essentially the same diameters front and rear (1.3% difference or less depending on wheel size). RE: For the 19" wheels the fronts are 30.0" and rears 29.9". For the 21" wheels the fronts are 30.0" and rears are 29.6". The only reason they are not exactly the same is it is difficult to get exact matching diameters when staggering widths. Not unusual. My Audi R8 has between a 1.5% and 3.5% variance depending on which stock width (they come with 295 or 305) rear tires you have.
