Can you take a picture with them on the car?

Thanks for posting that photo. You got the two stainless-look pedal pads (9Y1-723-173 and 9Y0-723-647). Those look good. Although they're different from the $500 "Pedals and Footrest in Aluminum" (970-044-700-00) that the thread starter was describing.

I can attest to how much of a pain the accelerator pedal one is. I got my set yesterday, brake was easy, gas pedal...not so much. Gave up because it is scorching hot here in Texas and i just didn't have the patience.

I am debating taking off the pedal, but I also just feel uncomfortable tinkering with something that basically directs the car to go forward . We'll see if i can find that screw and if it's easy enough to take off.

I don't know how others did it, but I don't think I can ever do it without removing the pedal even with lubing and heating. I was hesitant about taking it off too, but, once I got down, it didn't look that bad. One torx screw and the connector.
It's very simple, straightforward process, and once you take it off you're going to say, why the heck didn't I do this from the beginning.

Thanks for the comforting words..after reading your post I went for it. There is definitely no way i would have gotten this one without taking off the pedal. Hell, even my wife had to lend a hand where we used a flat head screw driver to pry some of the stubborn edges/corner over the pedal.

For anyone on the fence of taking off the pedal...highly recommend it. Here is a pic showing the torx screw (used a T27 head to take it off) and the snap on connector that is a breeze to disconnect. Finished product as the second pic:

I bought 9Y1-723-173 and 9Y0-723-647 from a dealer and they called saying the brake pedal wouldn't fit my VIN. I was expecting the accelerator pedal cover not to fit but not the brake so I called them
and they said both these part numbers were for regular rubber pedals, nothing about stainless. Confused, I cancelled the order. Was the dealer mistaken?

Thanks, After busting my A__ like everyone else with the gas pedal, I found and joined this forum. Just take it off like everyone says. It's just a 27 bolt.. At 250 it was hard to fit in there but made it happen. Thank all of you!!! .
