Nope. I had a pair of the adjusters sitting in my garage that Porsche had replaced the screws on.. and the bolts were non-magnetic.

So far these variocam issues seem to occur with US models circa 2010-2012 with the recalls and all. What about 2012 models from the UK? Is it even possible to check about this from their VIN numbers?

Most likely all the 2011 + Cayenne Turbo have had the bolts updated by now?
Should a A carfax report ell if this was done or would any Porsche dealer should know ?

Im in the market for a 11/12 TT

I'd have a dealer run the VIN to check on the recall (plus other maintenance records) vs carfax

Was this issued as a recall for all vehicles 2011 V8. I am currently looking at one and check the VIN for the recall and it doesn't show up. I'm assuming that it would have been taken care, but is there anyway other than inspecting the bolts to confirm? Thanks

This is a recall for a specific VIN range for the 2011 Cayenne Turbo: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/201...7V368-6172.PDF

Production Dates : MAY 03, 2010 - JUN 08, 2011 VIN Range 1 : Begin : WP1AC2A28BLA80350 End : WP1AC2A23BLA88405

Oddly, an April 2010 production Cayenne Turbo (VIN: WP1AC2A24BLA81141) that I'm looking at isn't covered in this VIN range. I doubt that this earlier example wouldn't have the aluminum bolts.

I suspect the issue was not so much with the aluminum bolts but instead with the over-torquing of the aluminum bolts.
