What do you tow? (958 Pic-thread)

I added the factory tow kit to my 2014 CS. It was pretty easy to install.by myself. I bought a used tow module on ebay, and found a used tow bar on ebay as well. I bought new bolts and plug from the dealer. I had to use a jack to hold up the bar since I was installing myself, but once you get a bolt in it is easy. I then had my local dealer program it. They did it for free, because they had ever done it before and wanted to see how I did it. Also u can order the bar from Sunset/Suncoast for like 1k. I felt more comfortable with the factory kit, and am happy with the electronics on the dash as well. I think totally worth the money. I have towed a 25ft boat which was 6k pounds about 250 miles with 0 problems. And I mean really 0. I barely knew it was back there. I also tow an ATV trailer pretty regularly with 0 issues. These things are towing beasts, and in my opinion tow much better than a lot of "true trucks". I do love the V8!!

I haven't towed anything real big yet- but these 2 didn't put any strain on the CD at all, even through the mountains of eastern Tennessee. The only thing I miss with the Avalanche the CD replaced is the storage and that's the only thing.

Assuming I may be the first with this specific combo.
Earlier this winter I pulled my girlfriends '17 Macan GTS with my '16 Cayenne GTS roughly 2,100 miles from Milwaukee, WI to Tucson, AZ.
Quite a memorable trip.

I pull a 20' aluminum enclosed with an E36 BMW racecar inside. Cayenne Diesel does great, punches way above its weight as they say. +1 to watching/measuring your tongue weight, having tires properly inflated, etc.

I had my first real tow with the GTS this past weekend, about 90 miles each way to Palmer Motorsports Park. I'd previously towed this car/trailer with my '13 CD, so I am not new to towing with a Cayenne. I was very happy with how the GTS performed; plenty of power and brakes, and no issues with swaying or anything else. Having the air suspension compared to the steel springs helped with keeping the truck nose-down, and the ability to raise the truck to meet the trailer saved me some cranking.
Downsides were the constant shifting; having that low end torque with the turbo meant that downshifts were much less frequent in the CD compared to the GTS. Economy was also worse; the computer showed 9mpg for the ride to the track, compared to about 12mpg when I towed with the CD. The ride back was better at about 11.2mpg displayed. I tow between 70 and 80mph usually so economy isn't my main factor. I did not do a hand calculation but I put in about 14 gallons when I topped off the tank after the ride up, so I probably netted 7-8mpg. My GTS does seem a little thirstier than a previous GTS I had, so that may account for some of it, but I think for longer tows (like, to the Glen) I'll either take my wife's diesel Discovery or rent a pickup.

I’ve been searching for a sub 75k mile CD to tow my 993 but having very little luck. My route would be from north California to south California so I would like decent mileage. Opening my search to a hybrid cayenne would certainly make my search easier.
