Default 11 Cayenne Turbo 958 Trailer hitch wiring help

Hello. I have 11 Cayenne TT and I already installed OEM trailer hitch, but I can't find a wiring harness that is inside a vehicle that should be connected to module. Anyone has any idea?
Thank you

If your CTT did not have the tow package option, then from what I understand you may need to do that complete wiring yourself (now that you have the rear hitch hardware installed).

Here are some threads to read through (if you haven't already seen them)...

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...-pictures.html

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...r-cayenne.html

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...-2011-c-s.html

I don't have personal experience doing the full front-to-back wiring, but many here have, so hopefully they will chime in with any direct / specific questions you have.

There are also a lot of helpful docs on eTrailer.com

Good Luck (& have FUN!)

Default Not on that link :( I need wiring for Tow module

I maybe unclear, I'm missing harness that comes from inside of a vehicle to TRAILER TOWING CONTROL MODULE and not wiring for electric brakes and not exterior Trailer Plug. It's usually on the right side but I can't find it.
Any ideas?

Default The key is RED Plug

Found a red plug that was located on the right side inserted in the red plastic holder, removed Bose amplifier and installed a trailer controlled module with 2 harnesses connected.

Thank you STRONBL.

Default How to open up passenger rear cargo panel?

How do you open up the rear cargo area panel to get to the area where the trailer module is located?

Thank you!

I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone one can give me a little info. I am planning on retro fitting my 16 CTT with a trailer hitch. The dealership quoted $2423 to have it done. Ouch! I have read the threads on how to put the trailer hitch on and feel confortahbe with it. However, I am confused about the "dealer activation required" that is in the product disclaimer from Suncoast on their OEM trailer hitch. Is there a dealer activation needed?

Yes, the dealer activates the new module.

etrailer.com has a pretty good price and great shipping for hitch receivers. I did the draw-tite on mine recently, with a write-up on it found in the 958 DIY (or in the main 958 subforum) As far as the wiring, I'm not sure, I haven't read up on that too much yet, but there's a few linked in the original post.

I know this is an old post, but thanks for this article. Wish any local dealers here were nice enough to provide things like this. Now just need to find a used module, wiring and someone with a PIWIS. Do you think its possible for you to get the same type of dealer instructions for activating and disabling the acoustic lock sound?
