Default Any ideas on where this heat shield goes?

I was pulling back the passenger wheel well liner and this heat shield/wrap dropped out, onto the front drive shaft. I recently had some work done on the coolant system.
Does anyone have any idea/any pictures of where it goes?
Thanks in advance

That's not factory.
You know the drill around here: what kind of Cayenne is this from?
If it has a turbo, maybe someone thought it would be helpful to place a turbo blanket on it somewhere?

I’m too poor for a Turbo or Diesel, or GTS or S, its just a humble base! But it does get angry when I press the sport button

That looks like the heat shield that covers the transfer case module plug...no the module end but .the part that goes into the underbody. It's on the passenger side....located around the front corner of rear door...It's hard to explain but if you need a picture....I can take one. It looks just like it from memory....

Wait front passenger wheel well?...that wouldn't be the location of what I was thinking of

None of the factory heat shields under the Cayenne of any model, have fabric snaps like that!

Maybe you just ran over it while driving. Are your undertrays installed?

Yep, that’s where I found it.

Yes, under trays are installed, maybe I’ll take them off and have a look.

Ok so that location heatshield has stitching on it so not the right one...I'd remove the trays to check but...definitely factory material

Thanks geetee for the pics and info, and for being right!
It's interesting that heat shielding is only on a Base gas model due to having two exhaust pipes located right under that plug. No other 958 version has two exhaust pipes in that area, and no other version has that heat protector... and I can't find it in the parts manual! Is there a part number on it?

Quick Reply: Any ideas on where this heat shield goes?
