Car wont start - shift lever to P or N
So started the, car pull in to the garage to change TC oil
put on parking brake shift to park
oil pressure monitoring failure pops up
then I shut off car,
move to shift lever to P or N pops up and I can't pull key
Car won't start now
I can pull the key if I push the button next to the ignition
dash lights indicate the shifter is in park, I can move freely to PRND with the brake depressed
any help
only had this car for a few weeks and I am not enjoying

Does the car crank? Which means,do you hear the engine making noise and spinning but won't fire? Or the car doesn't even crank? Big difference!!
If it doesn't even crank, with an oil pressure failure,I'm really hoping it's not what I'm thinking : which is that the engine is locked up. Hopefully not the case...

no it doesn't crank
my thought is some kind of neutral safety switch
even with the lever in park or neutral and the dash saying its in park or neutral something else thinks it not

If you can't remove the keys from the ignition - it means car doesn't know the gearbox is in P. That's the reason it doesn't crank. There may be other reasons for the low oil pressure warning, but they should be addressed after the car will be able to crank.

(Update) I got the car started, i will try and condensed the story a bit
just got this car a few weeks ago, trying to sort out some electrical gremlins also thinking this front bumper looks like GTS or Turbo not S (yep that my problem)
blew BMS fuse but was only15amp when I put on park break, I guess BMS triggers a lot of stuff like oil pressure monitoring failure and neutral safety switch
replaced with a 30amp started fine but Pass headlight was on then driverside DRL was lite White and amber
pulled the front bumper off and found a bunch of burnt wires and a hack job connecting the newer GTS/Turbo bumper the the 2011 wiring harness
Bumper wires to DS DRL
11 Harness hack
11 harness to DRL
harness part number burnt up has wrong connector for garage door opener
I am a little in over my head with this wiring stuff but I will be looking for some wiring diagrams and the correct way to wire a GTS/ Turbo bumper to a 2011 Cayenne S(with halogen headlight)
Fingers crossed the BMS is still ok
