Default Please help . Grinding from reverse to drive.

Please help . Grind from reverse to drive when reversing down my slight incline driveway. As a select drive I get a sort of slight grind and then all ok. The car doesn’t do this when on flat land. Any ideas folks?

Oh, I’ve just had the drive diff oils changed and gearbox service done and it’s not cured it. The transfer oil is next on the list

I bet it’s the hold feature on the incline that is engaging and then releasing - could easily feel like a grind.

It only engages the hold feature (like a parking brake) when you are on an incline - I wouldn’t worry about it. When you accelerate it releases.

yes it’s just the slight grinding noise as I go from reverse to drive . It only does it after coming down the drive. I’m glad it’s not the gearbox lol
