Default Oils

Hello,

I'm a bit confused around transmission fluids, hope someone can help.

On a 2012 958 GTS, what fluids normally need to be changed apart from Engine Oil and Brake fluid.

I've read things like transmission fluid, clutch fluid, transfer case oil, differential oil.

The OM only refers to transmission fluid change at 16yrs/160k miles.

Thanks for help

My opinion

Diffs every 30k, especially if towing
Tranny every 50k
Transfer case every 15k

No. That would be a transmission fluid, like what Quadcammer mentioned, 2 differentials front & rear (if you have a locking/PTV rear differential its fluid is different) the center differential or known as transfer case fluid and the transmission fluid.

I would use all OEM fluids for these. Many reported some differential issues while using different, non-OEM fluids.

Mine has it. 958s did come with an optional locking differential. It was the Porsche Torque Vectoring option.

No button for that, but when the rocker is pushed for off-road selection, with the locking diff you would be able to lock all three(three lights will be lit), 1-front, 2-center and 3-rear. Non-PTV optioned 958s I believe are only able to lock 2, the front and center.

I thought you were supposed to re-calibrate the steering angle also. I think this might only be for cars that have Lane Keeping Assist. Can someone verify this?
