DPF Filter Needs Service, Glowplug warning...
I assume that (SA said it was) this issue is a diesel warranty issue. Any ideas what this problem is, causes, etc? I make sure that the CD does come up t temp whenever I drive it. I take the expressway to work and back even though I could just take a shortcut, but that is stop and go, and too short to get things nice and heated up. Had a nice 200 mile trip last week, and it behave well. I want t amke sure that my CD is becoming unreliable. I realize that if items were handled quickly, I probably wouldn't be as concerned, but the inconvenience factor compounds things.
Any help and advice will be very much appreciated.
I forget where you're located, but if possible, delete all that crap.
This forum is fantastic, people try to help each other out, provide good advice, and stay out of politics. My statement is not political in any way. I wonder whether all that PDF, DEF, et. have a meaningful or material effect on the exhaust pollutants. I ask this particularly relative to the complex system they created to achieve the NoX etc?

Ive had recurring DPF problems for the last 4 months on my 2012 CD and ive managed to sort them myself with the help of my scan tool.
Fortunately you're in the US where you have the diesel warranty so self diagnosis and DIY solutions should not be necessary.

They told me that they would get to it first thing this week. I hope they do a decent job. Only warranty claim was that turbo replacement, and they botched it. I have been loyal to them...paying their ridiculous maintenance prices to buy loyalty........maybe I am living in upside down world, because most businesses do what they can to be loyal to their customers. No loaner for a couple of days is no big deal. Tomorrow is a week, and if they have no parts and it's two weeks will be ridiculous. If rental cars weren't so outrageously expensive, I would rent a car. If it's going to be another week, I may ask them to rent me a car. Bottom line....I love the vehicle. I still enjoy it every time I drive it. My plan when I bought it was to keep it for a long time (just like my Lexus), and I would like to do that.

Youre within your rights to ask for a free loaner. The inconvenience youve experienced should be borne by the dealership.
I've got a faulty fuel gauge issue caused by a defective sender (hopefully covered by the Dieselgate warranty). The earliest the dealer could get me in was mid February...FEBRUARY. No loaner either.
For now I've just got to monitor mileage on the trip odometer and determine when I'm almost out of fuel...

Week after we get home, the car sputters, stalls and dies on my wife. "You have gas?" "Yes, between 1/8 and 1/4 showing". Nope, dealer calls and says "you ran dry". Fuel gauge improperly calibrated. New cluster software solved it.
Imagine had I not been cautious on our long drive! Would have run out in the middle of NW Texas!

I'm hoping it's the senders as those should be covered by the extended warranty and are known to flake out. I'd do the repair myself but if it's covered why bother playing in diesel if I can avoid it.
at minimum, I believe the dealership should put you in a rental car? if you do not ask, you might not ever get. if you accept hey we have no loaners, they go great ok
that said, I would push for a Porsche loaner. Maybe someone can chime in on what our CD warranty covers? & it might vary by state and/or country
even if they put in you a rental, stop in and ask how is your CD doing? did they have any Porsche loaners return?
be nice but consider being squeaky
also, if you are in a loaner it actually might cost the dealership something (maybe)
they might not "pay $" but maybe it hits some report for the cost of their warranty repairs or something? that affects them somehow? in some way other than direct $? who knows
so they might get your job done sooner?
