I was recently in a Mercedes loaner and it had pretty cool ambient mood lighting inside the cabin. I was wondering if anyone's tried it?

The panamera loaner we had a while back had a toned down version of lighting like that. Back when we had BMWs we had a 6 and 7 loaner with it as well. I kind of like the ability to adjust the color but, I’m pretty sure the novelty would wear off pretty quickly.

I didn't know that. I've only seen them previously in the MB S5oo and CLS models. That's the first I saw but then I think MB includes it all models now.

Nothing wrong with the orange orangutan Sylvania's but would prefer something more modern.
How about these?

My wife’s 2020 GLE has a good deal of led lighting on the inside, not quite as much as the one that you showed. She pretty much keeps it on one shade of blue, even though it can support a multitude of colors and themes.
One fun feature, which can be switched on/off, is that the colors in the front, by side, change when you adjust the temp.
I too like the ambient lighting, you get used to it and it becomes subtle.

- Adjust the temp up, and the light momentarily turns red
- Adjust the temp down, and the light momentarily turns blue (in our case a different shade to the selected blue!)
I too like the ambient lighting, you get used to it and it becomes subtle.

it looked more like a glow in the dark strip vs a bulb.

My Cayenne has LED lighting from Porsche. The lights are a subtle, diffused white and don't change color. I can't change the luminescence either but I also have never wanted too.
That MB looks gaudy and over the top. Something I'd expect from a 17 year old with a $30 budget. I'm on another forum where there is an ongoing WTF thread dedicated to what
people do to cars. It mostly deals with the outside but occasionally it shows the interior. The MB reminded me of that thread because my reaction was WTF.
Each to their own though. I've seen fake turbo vents, "kompressor" badging on a toyota, creepy baby doll heads mounted to a dashboard and Trump stickers so I've learned not
to be surprised and to accept that for some, it looks exactly how they want.
So if you like it, who cares what anyone else thinks, you drive/ride in the car and so only your opinion counts.

I always thought of mood lighting as subtle. That is not subtle. Newer Porsche have good lighting. The lighting on my ‘11 is not worth the price. Hardly notice it.
