Default New brakes

I have a 16 base, Front brakes and rotors were replaced at around 25k miles and the back are original. The rotor are warped and it vibrates at high speed. I'm looking at replacing all 4 corners. I'm looking at Zim/Textar combo, have anyone use this setup?

How many miles do you have now? How do you know it's the rotor and not an out of balance (or bent) wheel?

How much meat is left on the pads?

currently sitting at around 60k. Wheels get balance and rotate every 5k, and no issue were found. The vibration only happens when brake is applied. Last time I had it check, about 50% left.

Curious why you reccomend OEM pads? If memory serves right, I believe that Textar is an OEM supplier for these vehicles?

oem compound is usually a bit different even if it's same oem.

I just ordered Brembo rotors and NAO pads for CD. I was pleasantly surprised at the price. It will probably be a little while before I get around to putting them on so, I can't offer any review of performance yet.

My dealer just replaced both front & rear pads & rotors. I had it done before getting the contact info for a reliable non dealer tech

I've been driving this Cayenne for about 5 years and this is the first set of pads/rotors being replaced. I have developed a "muscle memory" for how the brake pedal
feels and for how I need to depress it. I'd swear, with the new pads and rotors, it feels less ---grippy. Like I have to press harder on the brake pedal for the same
stopping force. I know from my youth there was this break-in period with the brake pads before they mated to the rotors, or some other such thing had to happen.

Is that true here and until it does, I have to keep that in mind with braking distances? or should I call the dealer....

Thanks, yes, that is what I was thinking. Shouldn't the servicing dealer do this?? Seems odd they didn't, unless such a procedure isn't part of the official Porsche service manual covering pad and rotor replacement.

They probably test drive and do an initial bedding procedure during but, that article says it can take up to 400 miles to fully build that layer of pad transfer on the rotors. The dealer is definitely not going to go that far.

I wonder, what is the OEM procedure. The Tirerack article shows how different manufacturers have different procedures and with the OEM pads made by Textar, they aren't listed in the article.
I will have to drive it and see. I will have to call the dealer anyway, they did the 40k service as well and now my glove box won't open but an inch. Not sure what they needed to go in there for.

There's a trim panel below the glove box door that has to be removed to change out the cabin air filter - my bet is it wasn't re-installed correctly and is what's not letting the glovebox open.

That sounds about right, I recall this happened once before when I first picked up the car. I'll go out and look, see if I can snap something into place to free up the glove box.
