Getting same voltage for running lights, left stop/turn and right stop/turn. 0V for brake controller output (I haven't installed yet) and 0V for 12V pin (not sure why that is 0V)
There won't be voltage there unless the controller detects a load from lights and activates the output. You'll need a trailer tester or use the volt meter on the trailer, a light or distribution box.

For the controller to show an error it would need to complete or fail to complete the circuit. If you are getting the errors before you connect anything (the codes could be from years ago or from a different car if the controller was pulled form a used car) I would look at the fuses. I believe they are 5, 6, 7, and 8 on the right side of the dash. They go to the controller and then to the connector; the controller might throw an error if it doesn't see voltage coming in before anything is plugged in.

Thanks @KNSBrakes and @vwbrd for the reply. I don't think my trailer caused the issue since the code reader showed those 2 error codes right after the install of the Pollack connector and before I ever hooked up my trailer. vwbrd - I did find your posts from August, thanks for the reference point.

Still seems odd that I am not getting 12V - my battery is good so that shouldn't be an issue.

From what I have read, you won't get 12v unless it detects a trailer is hooked up.

@GrandPaJohn - interesting. What do you think triggers a "detection" of the trailer?

LOL - I literally just added that to my Amazon cart before coming back to check Rennlist

To eliminate that it is the connector that is broken (and this could be the case since we got errors on vehicle scan after installing the connector but before attaching trailer) I think I should try another connector. Would this one work:

Not sure if Porsche is USCAR compatible

This is the one I got. It's probably the same as the one you show, but this one I know fits. Worked on my Cayenne and my Touareg.

@GrandPaJohn Thanks - unfortunately the one that you linked to I can't get until Sept 19/20. I guess I will order it though as a backup - can always return it. At least that tester can arrive by Monday

thanks!

Quick update on my situation:

1. Found that there wasn't a fuse in slot #40; put in fuse - still had error of Check trailer brake lights and check left trailer tail light
2. Finished replacing all incandecent lights with LED. Have the LED converter that is recommended - all lights work EXCEPT brakes. Turn signals and emergency flashers work
3. Ordered a new connector per Grandpajohn recommendation; that arrived today. Installed it, same issue

My next step is tonight I will unplug the trailer controller behind trim in cargo area and see if I can reset it that way. Otherwise, I have a trip scheduled to the Indy tomorrow

SUCCESS!

As I understand it, the Cayenne had to be recoded to have brake light and turn signals coded to be the same light. Once the Indy did that, issue was solved.

Thanks to everyone that helped me through this process
