So to confirm, if the transfer case has been replaced, the warranty still goes back to the in-service date?

I am on my third transfer case and the last replacement was in 2018.

Thanks.

I haven't received any notification from Porsche. Still waiting.

I called PNA and they said my 15 Diesel was not included in the extension. I dont have any symptoms, and will continue to flush TC every 10k.

So annoying and strange that early 2011s with in service dates prior to 9/2010 are not part of the warranty.

I got an email yesterday from Porsche with details on the warranty extension and instructions to print the email out and put it with my manuals. Also said it is entered into their system so any P dealer could see it. It included the claims process if I had paid for repairs before and wanted to be reimbursed.

I plan on taking my car in to the dealership to have them replace mine. Just had the TC oil done with Ravenol. Car drives 75% better but I still have the issue.

My question is should I tell them I had tc oil done Or just play dumb?

I mean with a 10 year warranty, those cars would be out of warranty anyway. I think 10 years is the standard for these sorts of extensions, so I think just bad luck. My 2011 has another 8 months on the warranty.

hahaha ok will do. Apparently From the additional research I’ve done, mechanic told me they’re replacing the faulty part with the exact same faulty part so even if I get it replaced it won’t be fixed. Best solution seems to be to keep changing tc oil every other oil change.

I hope they are at least fitting the new vent?

My ‘16 is having the transfer case changed as we speak. The service manager told me there has been so many updates he has lost track, they just put the latest version in. He is at the point where he doesn’t think Porsche really knows what the problem really is! Hopefully with fluid changes I can get a number of years out of this one....but warranty will be good to Aug. 31, 2023 anyway.

maybe I’ll just keep the same case and change out the oil since the swapping the case doesn’t seem to be helping

If you can get it covered, I would go ahead and get a replacement case. As best I understand it, the issues are caused by water getting into the case due to the original vent design, which then causes the clutch plates to rust and grab. Changing the TC oil helps and mostly solves the issue but an even better solution would be to get the TC replaced (hopefully with the new vent design) and then STILL do oil changes on some regular basis, so you are starting out with fresh clutch plates.

I got the email last week. I had paid to have my transfer case on my 2013 GTS replaced, so I have filled out the paperwork for reimbursement. Will see what happens.
