Default New to Me 2016CD

I'm happy owner of 2016 Diesel with 42000 miles. Black on black. Had a '78 SC Targa , sold it 10 yrs ago , so happy to have another P-Car in the garage. Unfortunately , I have minimal service records other than Carfax. Owner says 40 K service was done but I'm not so sure. I'm going to contact the dealer that did the servicing and see if I can get copies of service invoices. The DEF tank was pretty much dry, as was washer fluid. (pretty easy things to do). I just pulled the cabin air filter and it's pretty dirty . I looked up my VIN on the Porsche website and it says it has the extended 10 yr warranty and the fix was done but no stickers are in the engine bay.

I plan on doing most routine maintenance myself. Where is a good place to get oil filters? I used Stoddard for my 911 but I don't think they carry Cayenne parts. I also want to change the fuel filter. It was changed at 20k service but not listed for the 40k so I want to do that.

Otherwise I like the car a lot!
thanks

jim

Nice, congrats. Amazon is a good spot for oil, oil fliters, and fuel filters. Free and fast shipping. Sites like Pelican Parts offer great parts, but charge for shipping (I think its free after $99?) and its SLOW. I normally look up what I need on here or Pelican, and then search Amazon for it. Not many local places near me stock parts for these, it's always special order, but maybe you'll have better luck.

I did the same when I got mine. Oil, filter, fuel filter, and I flushed the brake fluid. Mostly just to have a schedule of when those things were done. If you're feeling adventurous, you could take apart the intake tubes to clean out the carbon. https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...l#post15995541

OK Here's a Picture!
I do have a VW dealer in town . I imagine most toureg filters etc would work in the cayenne.
I'll check out idparts online as well as pelican.

thanks
jim

Looks nice. I am really enjoying my CD a lot. great cruising car. FYI, I am selling my Carmine red '87 911 now, mostly because I never drive it. Got a couple other air-cooled P cars that I gravitate to more often. Enjoy the CD.

I used a Bosch oil filter in mine with Mobil 1 oil. There is a big hill by where i am in the UK and if I floored it up there as it went from 3rd to 4th it would go into limp mode. Spoke to an indy and Porsche and gave them the error codes and they both recommended I fitted only a Porsche oil filter. Did and oil change with the same oil and fitted a genuine Porsche filter & new sump plug and washer and have never had it since. Going forward its only Porsche filters for me.
Have to say I still struggle to understand why, especially with a Bosch replacement but I have never had a limp mode incident since.

Cheers
Phil
PS. All the genuine filters coming out of the Porsche box's for my diesel are VW /Audi stamped lol

I get Mobil 1 esp 5W-30 and filter at Advance Auto. Their Carquest filter is actually a Mahle (same Stampings in the plastic as the one the Porsche dealer where I bought it used). Using a discount code & Speed Perks you can wind up with the oil for $4-$5/ea but you have order them online individually. My last change ran me about $50.
