Adding Remote Start?

I have a 2017 Cayenne S that I'd like to add the remote start feature to. Does anyone have any suggestions of which product to use/install, or which ones to avoid? Success or horror stories? Thanks!

When i went looking into this locally, there was only 1 shop who would touch a Porsche Cayenne and they stated there were very few products that would work on our SUV. The claimed the install time to be 8 hours due to wiring and other install complications. Good luck on your search. Report back with what you purchased and how long the install took if done.

I haven't tried these guys but when I was thinking about doing the same I came across their youtube page and website. Would love to hear some first hand experience with the kit.

So, my question is if we have to leave a key in the car can we have a 3rd key programmed?

I had a Viper remote start installed in my 955. It took the installer 10 hours and I had to sacrifice a key. It can be done but it’s probably $1500 to $2000 all in. The installer had to call Viper to help him through it. To me it wasn’t worth it to do it again on the 958.

It looks like the box that they put the key in may not let it send signals out except for a small opening to a sensor that attaches perhaps? They do have you take the battery out of the remote in that posted video.

Might be reviving an old thread here but, I'm also interested in doing this on my 2011 Cayenne Turbo and have been researching for some time now.
The only "OEM" style I've found is THIS KIT and HERE is a video of the demonstration and installation of said kit.

I never went the remote start route, plus these apps weren't around before. I've seen prestige alarm installs on YouTube. But having an easy plug/play setup changes the game, thus the expensive price.

My Cayenne is my winter car. I spent an easy grand just buying the crap to get a 3rd key programmed. (and I 'still' don't have one) If there's a new and improved way I'm all ears.

No, but that was the one I was going to get if I could have gotten a 3rd key.
The dealer was a dead end, they said it would be months to get one from Germany and it was hard to tell if they really couldn't use my genuine cleared keys or just didn't want to, and since it was winter I put the project to the side.
If I get some time I'm going to try to find a locksmith who can program the BCM directly and just let them deal with it.
To do the keys yourself you either have to buy the tools to clear a used key or use an aftermarket key and then program your BCM.
I suppose if you had a PIWIS with Chinese support they may be able to team view into your car and do it with an aftermarket or good clear OEM key.
Of course, you could just live with only one key I suppose.
