‘14 vs. ‘16 Cayenne GTS
Hello all.
I'm a new Porsche owner, and found this thread really interesting. I've owned my 2016 Cayenne GTS, for a little over a month now. I have to admit, that I was a little disappointed with the exhaust note, on this V6 TT. Like many of you, I could not find both the V6TT and V8 GTS Cayenne, close enough to test drive both. Honestly, it was hard to find the GTS at all. I'd found plenty of S and even Turbos, but no GTS.
However, I'd watched so many videos of the GTS on youtube, I thought I would be perfectly fine with the V6TT. The one I bought, has the Sport and Sport Plus settings and active exhaust flaps. Upon delivery, I realized that I could hear no difference in activating the flaps in normal, though I did notice the difference when activating Sport and Sport Plus. Since the truck was a CPO, I took it to the dealership and had it checked. They said the flaps were stuck and they put a brand new muffler and pipes on it. I just got it back today, and still can't tell the difference with flaps open in normal. It just doesn't sound like all the stock 2016 GTS's in the youtube videos. Because of that, I just drive it in Sport mode at all times. We also have a 2016 Audi S7, which is a V8TT. So, when I just REALLY want that V8 sound and power, I drive the car. But, coming from the stress of Range Rover ownership, I'm LOVING this Cayenne GTS. So happy to be a Porsche owner!! The Porsche Cayenne GTS is just a beautiful, fun to drive truck. Everyday, I'm literally LOOKING for somewhere to go, just to have to jump in it and drive! lol
