What's the real world fwy mileage with the V8? I don't commute much, mostly longer distance fwy and mountain roads. Looking to consolidate two cars in one (SUV and sports sedan) and the Cayenne is probably the only option.
If mpg is a concern to you, I would stay away from any Cayenne with V8 because they all have bad gas mileage.

I'm mostly wondering if the 15/21 mpg rating is accurate. If I get 20+ fwy cruising, that's good enough.

I love my 2014 GTS, as for the MPG. I erased the trip meter every time I refilled the tank and then calculate the gallons vs miles ridden and compare it to the trip computer. I get consistently about 2mpg less doing the old math. Ex. Trip computer states 20mpg by doing the math I get 18mpg. I usually get 18mpg calculated on normal driving.

Cool, is the 18 mpg mix city/fwy?

My commute is about 50miles (daily) on a one lane road in the FL Keys, varying from stop (lol) to up to 60ish and an occasional trip to Miami. I would say mainly city. On Michelin Pilot Sport AS3. I put Fabspeed secondary pipes and the MPG didn't change much, but the throttle response is quicker, sound is louder on startup, and heavy throttle. I love the V8 sound.

Awesome! That's not bad at all. I just wanted to make sure I don't take a trip and get like 10mpg LOL. Sounds like the 15/21 rating is pretty accurate.

Hello all.
I'm a new Porsche owner, and found this thread really interesting. I've owned my 2016 Cayenne GTS, for a little over a month now. I have to admit, that I was a little disappointed with the exhaust note, on this V6 TT. Like many of you, I could not find both the V6TT and V8 GTS Cayenne, close enough to test drive both. Honestly, it was hard to find the GTS at all. I'd found plenty of S and even Turbos, but no GTS.

However, I'd watched so many videos of the GTS on youtube, I thought I would be perfectly fine with the V6TT. The one I bought, has the Sport and Sport Plus settings and active exhaust flaps. Upon delivery, I realized that I could hear no difference in activating the flaps in normal, though I did notice the difference when activating Sport and Sport Plus. Since the truck was a CPO, I took it to the dealership and had it checked. They said the flaps were stuck and they put a brand new muffler and pipes on it. I just got it back today, and still can't tell the difference with flaps open in normal. It just doesn't sound like all the stock 2016 GTS's in the youtube videos. Because of that, I just drive it in Sport mode at all times. We also have a 2016 Audi S7, which is a V8TT. So, when I just REALLY want that V8 sound and power, I drive the car. But, coming from the stress of Range Rover ownership, I'm LOVING this Cayenne GTS. So happy to be a Porsche owner!! The Porsche Cayenne GTS is just a beautiful, fun to drive truck. Everyday, I'm literally LOOKING for somewhere to go, just to have to jump in it and drive! lol

Don't the 2014 GTS's run the same motor that they ran in the Daytona Prototype series back in the day? I thought they did. I wish they would bring them back the way they are now putting the 4.0 engine in the hot rod Boxsters. I might have to trade my diesel for one!

Just bought a used 2014 GTS w\ 23.6k miles about 8 months ago. So far so good. Loved the V8 (reliable for a Porsche) and decided I was going with getting a 2013-14 S w\ a ton of options, low miles and ended up searching so long that I saved up enough to get me into GTS territory. Has set a budget for 40 and ended up paying 46. So far the only thing I dont like is the ride on the 21"s - along with horrible traction in snow or rain. It's just a blast to drive. It's the biggest car I've had in almost 30 years so for me the size has been a lot to get used to - since your coming from LR territory I think you'll be happy. I'm still stomping on the gas on a regular basis and I smile every time.

Do your homework here as to option and what you should look at\take care of when you get your new car. Use the build lookup tool to check the build - great way to learn. Was nice knowing I was getting a car that cost 108k for 46k.. It was almost 2yrs from when I said I'm getting a Cayenne until I got one with the build and condition I was satisfied with.

Just picked up a 14 GTS as well. I can't believe how much fun it is to drive! Hard to believe it's an SUV.

What tires are you running btw? That will make all the difference for wet/snow traction. Also, I'll be switching to 285/40/21 once my current tires wear out; that will help with ride quality. Currently have 295/35/21 Continental DWS06; hopefully those are decent in snow.
