Disaster. Code P0076 after engine work
Could be from before the fix and I should have read the codes before I tore into the engine.
In a nutshell, high pressure fuel pump went out. Car threw a "Reduced Engine Power" and then subsequently a check engine light. I had the new pump on hand and also a new vacuum pump so decided to throw both parts on and ended up buttoning her up this am. Started the car and was running rough for a few saeconds, then super smooth. Idle is dead on smooth and at 800. I also took the time to repair a broken Tee fitting which maybe helped with the idle
Had a 3 codes stored:
P0125 - Insufficient coolant temperature - No longer on,
P1021 -Diagnosis information - Fuel high-pressure quantity. Diagnosis detects a deviation between required and actual values in fuel high-pressure quantity control. - No longer on
P0076 - Intake Valve Control Solenoid - This one is still on and can't be reset. Pertains to bank 1 (passenger side).
I'm thinking that I got some oil, cleaner or water on the plug. Since I drove it and it got hot, the water should have evaporated. To get to this solenoid, I'd have to remove the vacuum pump again to get at it. I'll go outside and see if I can unplug it and look at the connection. Maybe there's oil that dripped on it when I removed the vacuum pump.
Any insight is appreciated.
In any case the car runs fine just down a wee bit on power. Nothing like it was pre HPFP install.

Don't everyone answer at once. LOL
Valve control solenoid was unplugged. Must have popped off when I was instaling the vacuum pump.
All good and the car is flying.
