I'm currently working on custom fabbing a set of frame extensions for the Quickjack platform. As some of you are aware, the extensions made by Quickjack do not extend past the 7000 series jack points (and are about 3-4" shy of what we need for a proper lift. Some have had results with turning the jacks sideways, but that method isn't always ideal for certain types of undercarriage work.
I've heard the 6000 series make it, but then you're stuck with a jack that is too long for your other toys (911's, etc).
I'm writing to gauge interest in these, as I am working with a friend who owns a fabrication shop and can turn out some very professional and safe alternatives to what is currently available. Cost will be no higher than $500/pair, and hopefully a good bit lower if I can get a group-buy going.
Thanks for looking!
2"x2.75" steel used, same as quick jack Antiskid blocks sit in quickjack pockets to ensure no sliding Rubberized tape will be applied to the bottom to prevent metal to metal contact Extensions will be primered and painted gloss black to match existing unit.
damnit. all the measuring I did on 4 different cars and I ordered the wrong one! I guess I'll get the frame extenders. I thought I ordered the 66" one.
Now the question is, frame extenders or just use two long 4x4s?
edit. ordered the extension from summit racing, as they are local and have it in stock.
yeah, with all the measurements, I got confused. anyway, have the extensions on order. Glad you pointed that out or I would have been really frustrated when attempting to do the brakes next weekend.
5000SLX won't fit sideways without extensions if you're using the designated jack points.
Correct. It was tight even with the 7000 series I have... and it still felt sketchy to me lifting it that way. Gets too close to pinching stuff under the car like the fuel tank and cross members, and using blocks makes the whole rig unstable.

Unfortunately, the extensions will only get you to the length of the 7000 series, which won't be long enough. They miss by a few inches. This is why I embarked on this project.
Update: Did a little work today on the project. Let me know what you guys think!
Looks decently similar! Size comparison against the 7000 series Aft positioning Fore positioning Primed Painted Gloss Black to match
Excellent. These look like stock extensions. A while ago I’ve requested QJ to make longer extensions like these and have had no response yet. Do they sit exactly the same as the stock extensions and have no play?
If we go through this, first thing I'll do is put the Cayenne up, just off the ground, with the extensions, and leave it there for a couple of days to see whether the extensions are holding up.

Beat ya to it. Went up for about 5 hours yesterday Deep cleaned the wheels and brakes, cleared my (clogged) cowl drains Rags there to keep the metal off the metal. Havent added a rubber/felt barrier yet. Working on that. Slight overhang of just about an inch. Next to no stress on the extensions. Next to zero flex. The overhang is at a maximum here, minimum overhang in previous photo.
