the 5000 with extensions has to go sideways to work on the cayenne, in theory. Once my ankle stops being sore and I put mine together, we will see how it works in practice. The OP has made longer extensions specifically for the cayenne

 

Exactly. And for my purposes, I didn't want the jack frames in the way of the undercarriage I'd be potentially working on. It's a cool workaround for what I need it to be

 

So I just measured the cayenne outside jack points and it seems like it would be within the 66 inch front to back with the quick jack 7000 extensions.

Is your device using the chassis mount points? I just want to clarify why I’m reading that it’s more than 66 inches and less in others. Any insight is appreciated

 

Yes, my extensions were made so that you could use the factory jack points. I have the 7000 series quick jack and I can tell you it was a few inches short of reaching the factory jack points. The frame extenders that quick jack offers only stretch the length to equal the 7000's footprint (ie, converting a 5000 to a 7000's reach). You would need the longer frame rails (the ones with the Tesla Model S in the pictures - 5000 or 6000 series?)

I obviously cannot (nor am I looking to) compete with Quickjack.. for pretty obvious reasons. So their frame extensions are obviously much cheaper (but don't work on our cars, so there's that..). These are handmade, and the $500 price (which I may be able to get down a bit if I get group buy level interest) doesn't include any profit what so ever. It's materials & labor. I'm not a vendor here, just doing the community a solid - and this is not my full time job believe it or not.. lol

When do you want one? I make them per order (again, I just have access to a super slick metal fab shop, not a legit business making these lol). Lead time would probably be a week or likely less. Where do you live?

 

Not to discount the effort by the OP, but other than the weight (est 32lbs per 8 ft reference below) , what is wrong with putting a 4"x6" of appropriate length on the shorter QuickJack? At $1000 + $500, I'm starting to weigh two post solutions

So the short answer is yes. However, and I’ve discussed this via PM with several members, I can’t make them as cheap as Quickjack. I’m just one dude. No fab company, I don’t do this for a living. So it’s not cheap but it works great.

If you want a set, my friend is the one who owns the shop and makes them. He saved the dimensions and can easily make a set whenever. We are located on Long Island, NY so also consider the cost of shipping about 70lbs of really long freight.

So yes, I can still make a product that works awesome and is just as strong if not stronger than QJ makes, but it won’t be cheap. Probably in the $500 or less range.

Wondering what the steel used is? Thickness and grade. Also the overhang off the front worries me as over time it may want to bend the entire extension. Maybe if the overhang off the quick jack was placed in the rear, it would be safer. Also there is no guarantee if something goes awry. Who assumes liability if someone is injured or killed?

 

It was heavier grade steel than the Quickjack setup, not sure the number or thickness. The overhang is about 4” at most and you control this by sliding them fore and aft as need be.

However, since RAudi Driver felt the need to be stupid and suggest litigation if someone is killed - these are no longer available effective immediately.

Feel free to express your gratitude to him, for ruining what I did of my own free time, to help out this group and make ZERO profit on. Literally spending time and answering questions to do a nice thing. Guess I learned my lesson. Good luck to you.

 

I don't think it was stupid to mention. For something like this safety and any consequences is always something that comes to mind since we are very much a litigious country.
