Looks to be ONE tire matching there:

But has a lot of tread depth left. Don't know how much tread is on the damaged tire.

Porsche Cayenne within 30% of the other tire on the same axle's remaining treadwear.

Let's recap:

1) Not the best in snow- check
2) Not the best on ice- check
3) Make noise- check
4) Last a long time, so you live with #1, #2, and #3 for a while
sounds like a great tire

If you live where you get a lot of snow/ice I'd certainly recommend a dedicated tire over an all weather tire any day. The fact they make a bit of noise while cornering hard is no big deal as I've had other performance tires that talk back to you and it can be helpful when pushing hard to know where things stand. I'd much rather have a tire that makes a bit of noise than one that is silent and just lets go when the threshold is crossed.

That said, if you drive your Cayenne hard then get the correct tire. If it's a DD and you don't typically push it hard (as opposed to spirited) then there's nothing wrong with a tire that lasts twice as long or more. My Scorpion Verde N0 tires lasted under 15K miles and I had no desire to spend that kind of money on a yearly basis. Everybody's situation is different so choose the kind of rubber which suit your driving habits.

So a quick update. Since I took pics of the car before I bought it I was able to prove the gouge was there before. They are going to look at it when I take it in next week for some things (adding key fob and remote start).

Thanks for all the input guys!

I'll update this once I get the car back. It does help that I bought through a Porsche dealer I think.

Was it CPO? If so, it should not have passed the CPO to begin with without them replacing the tires, since it has that damage.

It was not CPO. Just happended to be the dealer the original two previous owners had purchased and serviced the vehicle from.

Is it aftermarket remote starter? Porsche should offer it as OEM option like other car manufacturers.

It is. Directed Electronics SmartStart. The dealer uses this local installer exclusively for this.
