did anyone ever do this mod? im now thinking of buying secondary cat delete pipes, but after reading this i might just empty the guts of the cat. Can you still recycle those guts? i currently have a Top Speed pro 1 axle back exhaust (pretty much just a muffler replacement), and it sounds great and farts on upshifts from 1st to 2nd and sometimes from 2nd to 3rd, but its still a little too quiet for me. I think with the secondary cat delete it will sound perfect!!!! pictures below in case anyone is interested, this exhaust is very affordable, sounds great, and is bolt on. I highly recommend if you want something thats not too loud.

I've tried to break out the cat but it's not that type. They are like a thin spiral metal. They just bend.

i think im going to just buy the pipes so that its reversible if i ever want to sell the car one day, and keep my cats just in case. Its crazy how much they are though from Soul and capristo for essentially 2 24 inch stainless steel pipes. Soul wants over $1k for them and capristo were $810. Thinking of just going to a local custom exhaust shop, and have them mock them up. Another thing is that soul says you need different ones for the S/GTS than the cayenne turbo, but capristo only sells one that they say fits all V8 cayenne's. So which is it?

The S/GTS and turbo have different exhaust pipe diameters so you'd definitely need model specific versions.

If you want max sound, you should look into having an exhaust shop (if you don't weld yourself) create bypass/dump pipes off the muffler inlets with electric valves. That will give you the noise you want, when you want it, and probably be more economical vs the aftermarket pipes. There's a thread on here with pics that someone did.

Note about Cayenne converter, on 955 the bundle inside primary/secondary pipes is a roll of metal mesh, unlike traditional brittle ceramic honeycomb. Metal mesh is near impossible to knock out, or even cut out without big access opening into the converter. After opening it up, was able to pry the bundle out in one piece. Here is how I did it, cost $100 for both (welding) at local exhaust place after manager left for the day lol

The exhaust shop can most likely do it. The only issue is how many years there welds are going to last if you drive in the winter.

Just checking if anyone might have a set of factory secondary cats suitable for a 2015 958 Twin Turbo 4.8? I'm keen to clean them out for "testing purposes only".
