De-cat the Secondary Cats on a 958.1
Has anyone tried to just break the catalytic converter material out of the secondaries? I am thinking about giving it a try... Just as I stop gap until I can save up for an exhaust system.

Everyone does it on every other car out there. Don't think our car's would be any different. However, they are pricy if you ever need to replace them or go to sell the car. I would probably be patient and wait it out.

I think I'm gonna pound the guts out tomorrow. Resale value be damned. I've already done so much to the car that I have probably scared off half the potential buyers anyways. I knew that when I turned the first wrench on my cayenne I was loosing value.

You know- that’s not bad an idea. It throws no CEL codes- and in Cali which is more stringent- they don’t put AWD etc on rollers so a Cayenne is tested just at idle. Anyone here pass smog with 2nd cat bypass? If so- just pound out the cats.

I was thinking exactly that. I'm gonna pound them out tomorrow. I will post back up tomorrow with the results. I imagine the results will be the same as adding a pair of aftermarket tubes.

If this doesn't create a raspy poppy sound on yours, I'm doing this too. Although I think it will. Those Seoul tubes for instance sound like total **** and it only cost $600 to make your Cayenne sound like ****.
I think best is to have the rear exhaust system which is pricey at best.

Also had a Tubi rear section and hated it. These turbos sound best stock.

I didn't get a chance to work on the car this weekend. You guys have given me a lot to think about. I don't want to do something I'm going to regret. If I pound out the cat I can't unring that bell.

Video before and after please.

Also, if you're skilled with a welder, maybe put pipes through the center of those cats and you get same result as any of those bypass pipes for fraction of the cost.

I'm not a fan of the aftermarket sound on these things. Maybe the Akra but I can't afford that. I enjoy the Turbo for what it is. Super fast and super quiet doing it. Silence makes a car feel faster.
