Default Buying 2015 plus 958.2 Diesel Help

Hello,
What are the main problem areas to look out for when buying a 3.0 or 4.2 please.
Would you say buying a 100k miles Cayenne diesel is ok?
Generally I heard about oil leaks, transfer boxes, NOX sensors and Particulate filters clogging up.

Thanks

The transfer case is not the problem on the diesel. I would try to get as much of the service history of the vehicle as you can. In the USA we have CarFax, not sure if you have the same or similar. Look at what was serviced what wasn't and maybe compare to the Porsche service schedule. Make an informed decision. Search YT for the diesel engine you want (mine is the 3.0 V6 TDI), and all sorts of videos will come up scaring the crap out of you! I bought one anyway and plan on maintaining it properly.. It had a complete inspection from a Porsche dealer and the whole 80,000 miles service was performed where they replaced every filter, air, cabin, fuel, oil, brake fluid. ect.. So that helped my decision.

In the UK I heard lots of stories on the 4.2 where the transfer box failed, perhaps due to the torque?

Perhaps it is, we didn't get the 4.2 in the states. I haven't done any research on that powerplant

From my understanding the transfer case was an issue on all 958's... Any engine.

Not true. The diesels use a different, and almost problem free, transfer case. At least that is the case (no pun intended) here in the US.

Also, here in Greece I am seeing quite a few 4.2L diesels. I would really like to borrow one for the day to see what kind of power they put down, but also what kind of mileage they get.
