Unhappy 14 GTS Rides Rough

Even in Comfort with PASM, still rides rough. 45k miles. Any thoughts, new struts, whatever. Love the car, hate the ride.

21 inch tires? Enough said if that's the case. Try lowering the psi in the tires to the comfort mode setting and also change the setting to comfort mode in the instrument cluster. I don't remember the recommended settings off the top of my head. The manual is pretty clear.

Unfortunately it’s on19 inch tires. Pressure could be high though. I’ll look at that. Any other thoughts

Tire pressure and ride height. If you put the suspension height in the "normal" setting the struts have more travel and I have found the ride to be smoother.

I have a '13 GTS with P-classic 21"s..

it used to ride "perfect" when I had Michelin tires.. comfy (in comfort mode) in straight line, and stiff in corners (even in comfort mode).. as soon as I switched over to Conti DWS entire characteristic of the car changed.

It is now stiff and bumpy in a straight line (comfort mode) and softer/mushier in corners (even in sport mode)..

You are on 19" wheels so the ride should be very supple in comfort unless you have the same (or similar) crappy tires like I do..

As soon as I can, I am going back to Michelins..

And not only just Michelins, but N-spec Michelins do make a difference in terms of Porsche-specific tuning/specs impacting ride quality and performance on our P-vehicles. It’s more than just marketing.

My stupidity, I have 21 inch wheels, 19 on my other Cayenne. I have been checking tires and they say Continentals are best, but who knows. Will-switching to 20 inch help.

20s are def gonna give you more sidewall flex. But as others have suggested, I’d try pressure changes first, as it’s free.

I have a 14 GTS and my 21s are super smooth - I have Michelin Latitude Sports and prior had Yoko Advans. I set them at 35 front 44 rear and ride in comfort mode.

My complaint with Michelin tires is that they don’t last at all - 10k miles in the rear. I think that is ridiculous.

This. Continentals are terrible tires. Have had them on several vehicles from light truck to SUV to sports car.

Night and day when I switched to Michelins.

Weird, I've had good luck with Conti's. I wouldn't say they are the best but, I would put them as comparable to Michelin depending on the specific model of tire we are talking about. To be honest the only tires I've had that I hated were one set of Pirellis, and every Bridgestone or Goodyear tire I've had. I've always been pretty happy with Michelin and Continental.

I had a set of Continental Extreme Contact Sports on my M3 and I would rate them as good the Pilot Super Sports in every category and way better in terms of price and wet weather capability. I'm sure the Pilot Sport 4 S (Jesus, why are these names getting so long?) are bit better than the Conti but, they were also $400 more a set and not available in the size I needed.

it's a trade off between price, tread wear and handling. I am a big fan of Michelin tires, had them on M3, X5M and other vehicles I've owned. However, they're more expensive than the Contis and tread wear is terrible. Once you're down to 50% then road noise is really noticeable. But handling is superb due to stiffer side walls. Then I switch to Contis DSW on my X5M (the Michelin rear tires wear too fast on the X5M) and CTT. I immediately notice the side walls are softer (most noticeable when cornering) but the price is reasonable, excellent tread wear and road noise is minimal. If you read the reviews on Tirerack the common complaint people have on the Michelin is road noise.

Conti DWS are all season tires, not a summer performance tire, so the handling trade off will be there. I have them on my X5 as well and they have a softer feel to them, I have 36k miles on mine and still another 15-20 to go. They last! Once I get into a Cayenne GTS, I'll figure that tire issue out when I get there.

on my 14 GTS, the 21 inch Michelin Latitude Sports ride in normal or sport mode with 37lbs. front and 46 lbs. rear pressure as recommended in the manual with a smooth ride......Continentals of almost any type always ride like rocks as my experience has shown on a Porsche 911 993 and a Mercedes SL 65.........GTS goes through tires fast due to weight and aggressive handling nature of my driving.......on my third set at 50K miles......
