@JRoach , did you receive funds from VW and bring in your car in to be "repaired?" I am guessing that they should have given you all the paperwork to let you know about amendments to your new car warranty.

We ordered/built the car in January 2015, Delivered to us in June 2015. No letter in my files except the speed sensor extension and the CD emission extension. The car was "repaired" per the CD settlement and we did receive the funds.

I recently took the car in for regular service and per this thread it was a request for "info".

Service Advisor and Service Manager said that there wasn't an extended warranty (2 year), they looked it up on the system and verified the speed sensor. Service Manager also has a CD and said that he had not heard of a 2 year extended warranty.

Thanks for the input. Should I go to Porsche directly?

Yes. You should contact PCNA directly with your VIN and seek clarification of why you car's warranty has not been extended like other VW diesel cars.

PCNA wanted a copy of the entire letter. I sent them a partial copy I found in the 958 forum but it wasn't enough. Does anybody have a copy (personal info redacted) that they can post?

<sigh> PCNA forgot about their VW scandal already? Nice folks, right?

Default stackable warranty question

Hi
So I am currently trying to buy a Diesel which in the PCNA system has the 6 year extended new car warranty.
Dealer is selling it as CPO, but says they cannot stack CPO on top of the 6 year to make it 8 year.
They called their regional PCNA rep and rep said that the warranties are not stackable. They will still do the CPO checklist, but cannot stack the warranty.

Does anybody have any evidence which I can show to help the dealer make the extra 2 year warranty work?

If they won't tack it onto the end, don't pay the extra $3 grand. Stacking it on top doesn't extend the new car warranty, just changes to unlimited miles. I'm guessing you'll run out of time before miles. Plus, you have the 120K for the diesel settlement.

So I'm learning the hard way to not believe what you read on the internet as straight truth. I love my CD but the whole reason I flew and then drove back 2700 miles to bring home a CPO was to get this special warranty as described. Its not bearing out that way despite doing what I thought was careful examining. The short story is I'm not having trouble with my car but wanted to clarify after 20 months of ownership if the P system showed as I understand my protection to be. It's not stacked and I'm having trouble getting to someone who can discuss in great detail or reverse their decision.

When I bought the car I had the system warranty printed. There's multiple warranties shown on the read out as many have seen. One shows NEW CAR WARRANTY *and then 10 years from the date of the punch (went in to service) is shown. So for me it read New Car Warranty 5/26/25 then had the courtesy warranty and CPO listed as Pre-owned warranty. --- I made the mistake and believed there was a special warranty and I got this magic 10 year warranty as described pages back. Well, no. That new car warranty is for the speed sensor, 10 years. The 'new car warranty' text in the computer is a hyperlink that then tells you its a sensor. When printed vs seen in the system (or understanding better) you are mislead. At least that's the conclusion I'm at right now. Not happy about paying a premium for a CPO I didn't need. Well, it added 3 mos and unlimited miles but if I took that extra money and got my own warranty with Michael on here I'd be far better off.

Please tell me I'm wrong

From my experience shopping for a Diesel - here is the reality which dealers operate with
- All Diesels had 4/50 basic warranty - reflected as " New Car warranty line"
- PCNA extended new car warranty by 2 years/unlim miles (in some cases 2yr/100k miles) during dieselgate. That warranty was inputed into "Preowned Warranty line" on the warranty page
- PCNA added emissions/engine block warranty for 10yr/120k miles - it is reflected as "New Car warranty" line
- Speed Sensor is also reflected as New Car Warranty line
- If Dealer CPOs the car - that does NOT seem to add 2 additional years to 6/unlimited already in place.

So the longest warranty you can get is 6/unlimited for pumper to bumper + 10yr/120 emissions/long block.
There are some CDs with very late in service dates (as late as Jan 2018).....so those have about 3 years of warranty left now with / or without CPO.
I was purusing one of those, hoping to get the CPO on top of 6 years, and dealer escalated to regional rep and he said - not possible.

Here is the response I got from Porsche NA on mine which is a 2014 originally sold in late 2013. I removed my VIN and the reps name from the response.
Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to assist you.

Do you have an email address to contact them?

I'd love to get a definitive answer on that. My dealership thinks the CPO lays on top of the extended warranty, not tacks onto the end for two more years.

Some dealers and Dealer Reps are not well informed.
