Fuel filter is a 40k change interval. None of my filters have looked that bad when changed.
That's just crappy diesel that's been used.
Nope, fuel filter on the diesel is a 20k change interval with Porsche calling for emptying the fuel filter canister at 10k miles. At which point you might as well just change the filter too since you’ve got to remove it to suck out the fuel
I installed the iSudar CarPlay module, I have Bose and XM, the instructions could use a little more info, and the whole solution is a tight fit. Took it for a quick drive and it works well so far.
I went with iSudar over Mr12Volt as I like to listen to the radio/XM while I am driving and have CarPlay navigation on my screen, I know that folks say the sound quality is not as good in iSudar, but it sounds just fine to me.
iSudar CarPlay unti in PCM3.1 iSudar - Parking sensors work fine iSudar - OEM back up camera and parking sensor overlay work fine

This is a lot of work. I am jealous that you get to swap to the alcantara.
Here is my low effort "what did you do to your 958 today" post. I swapped the hatch/trunk bulb so the color of the light finally match! It was driving me crazy...
Where’d you source the LED bulb? I’d like to do the same. Just realized that my old halogen bulb appears burnt out.

Ahh...I got my intermediate service mixed up with my R32's schedule. It is 20k.
I don't ever check it every 10k for water. Haven't seen any since I have been doing my own maintenance, and it also does help to stick with top tier diesel.
Finally found time to address that coolant smell I've felt. Pretty clear where it came from now...
Replacing the thermostat housing with the new design and pinning the aft pipe while I'm at it. New pump and thermostat too of course.
I just did a similar job although my pipes were fine. I replaced the o ring seals under the thermostat housing which had a very minor leak. Also replaced all the o rings / gaskets for thermostat as well as water pump.

Definitely replace the coolant vent line (y-shaped line) while you are there. Those age out and are a show stopper if they let go. The URO version is only $26!

agree. But get Oem only $65 or so. Uro I won’t trust. It’s a lot of work to replace in that spot if it fails.

I already have an OEM vent line that will go in. All new seals and o-rings too of course as well as a new belt and latest type thermostat housing. I'll see if any of the pulleys have any play but for now I'm planning on leaving them alone (under 60k miles on the vehicle).
I'm planning on using an aluminum rivet to secure the aft pipe but it looks like it may not be that bad to replace the whole manifold with the modified version. Has anybody done that without pulling the engine out?

I looked at doing the rear crossover pipe when I did my coolant stuff. It looks like a huge PIA. We did some research and it looks like the rear bulkhead is removable but how much work is it to remove it who knows. And would it leave enough room to remove the crossover another unknown. I also looked at going through the fender wells. I haven't seen anyone actually remove the crossover with the engine in the car. I think you'd been in uncharted territory. Please let us know if you actually pull it off. Take lots of pictures.
