What did you do to your 958 today?

I decided to have another go with my 21 inch Turbo II wheels that the car came on. The tyres were mixed Dunlop on the back and Pirelli on the front. Having bulged a sidewall on one of the Pirellis on a motorway pothole, anecdotally Pirellis seem quite prone to this, I used a set of 19 inch wheels I already had and my 18 inch winters. Whilst not a fan of "cheap" tyres I found these GT Radial Sportactive 2s at a very reasonable £164 each (vs Michelins at either side of £300) so have put on a set of four. I did have a set of GT Radials on my old 955 S and they were OK. These Sportactive 2s have done well in at least one magazine tyre test. I will report back how I get on with them, their interpretation of 295/35R21 seems quite generous given the inner wing clearance although I never studied the old ones this hard.

50 years in business, they must be doing something right. Tires don't look bad at all.

Just did the same thing and managed to break both of the bolts that hold the glass to the regulator as they are reverse to remove,
This is due to them being screwed in from the outside of the car.
I will have to replace the regulator at some point but but able to get the bolts off/on with a torx bit and ratcheting open end..

FINALLY got around to replacing the rear door lock actuator. With the sunshades, it’s a real PITA to reassemble everything… probably a 2 hour job without sunshades and maybe 3 with, but it took me all day as I documented things and had to take things apart multiple times as I screwed up the order I did things and had to adjust the window etc. Sunshades severely limit how much space you have to work in.
anyway I made notes and took photos to do a write up if anyone is interested, not sure if we have one?

Changed out the fluid in the diffs and transfer case. Been about 50k on the transfer case and 105k on the diffs. They needed it judging by the color of what came out; lifetime fluid my ****. Next fluid tackle will be the transmission.
Also played around with some coding with the new Launch X431.

Wood with lines, Mr 12 Volt and Peddle commander
While I now own a tunezilla unit, the commentary is running a tune with stock emissions equipment is ill advised... So I wont be doing it. I did install a peddle commander throttle override and conceal it. Much nicer throttle response. I also installed the Mr 12 Volt PCM upgrade .. and finally the mahogany 'yacht' wood trim .. which I got used. Don't tell the orcas.
Wood with lines. And android auto!

Were the tail lights plug and play? I have a 2015 CD and one of the tail lights is cracking at the top. Where did you find them?
