2011 CayenneS alarm problem

2011 CayenneS alarm problem
I'm struggling with some sort of alarm problem on my 2011 CayenneS. The car locks normally, 2 beeps then lights go out - then after some period between 10 and 120 seconds, the hazard flashers come on, the lights at the base of the tailgate (inside) come on, there's a loud clicking 2x speed of hazards from panel to the right of the cargo space (i.e. inside of gas cap, but further rearward). The door red LEDs go bl.blip...bl.blip instead of slower single flash. It goes on forever, the only 'cure' is to not lock the car. I removed the little grill that's inside the base of the trunk side window and slid my new handy WiFi borescope in there (looking for which box might be making the fast click) - found there are about 3 "computer" boxes in there (i.e. boxes with connectors) but couldn't really read any labels apart from "7P0.907.801.C;" which is a Parking Brake control module. I couldn't tell what was clicking, I convinced myself it wasn't from the gas flap lock but further towards rear.
The only interesting code on Durametric is:
BCM Rear
4639 / 121F
Warning Indicator On
Test Not Completed blabla...
Fault Active
That code persists after any attempt to erase it with Durametric. Googling that code gives no results whatsoever. Is there a master decode list somewhere for all these codes? - maybe only the dealers have that.
The battery is new. charging voltages etc are all good. it could be a footwell flood problem as DonE has suggested elsewhere but the problem seems localized around the tailgate/gas cap area, so I'm not 100% convinced of that, yet.
I'm bracing myself for a dealer visit for some proper diagnostics - but wondering whether anyone has heard of such a thing. Or knows what 4639/121F means.
Thanks,
-Richard

If you search deep enough here (I believe it was here.. not 6speedonlline.com) someone else had the exact same problem. We worked through it a bit, and I forget what the resolution was - if any. The BCM is the BODY CONTROL MODULE. Don't have my manual handy (on the road actually in my Cayenne) or I'd tell you where to locate it.
One thought to leave you with on Cayenne oddball electronic problems.. there are wiring harnesses that run under the carpeting and insulation in the front footwells. These footwells are prone to filling with water due to a plugged HVAC drain, or plugged cowl drains. The water causes junctions in the harnesses to corrode and become wonky (tech-term..) Have you had wet footwells?

Sorry, forgot to turn on notifications and only just saw the replies.
yes, I have tried the Motion Disable button - no difference.
No I'm not aware the car has had wet footwells - but I've only owned it since May this year, so for the 6+ years prior to that I have no idea... I did replace the battery, therefore was fairly deeply involved in that area and didn't notice anything bad - but I didn't have the carpet up in the footwell so wouldn't know for sure.
I believe the rear BCM is located to the right of the cargo space, i.e. near the gas-filler, where I was looking due to the clicking. I need to investigate how to get the carpet/cover off that area so I can have a proper look.
It's stopped doing it again and is working fine now. Of course it will come back - but it makes debugging it a lot harder.
Thanks for the replies and suggestions - I will search for the thread you mentioned.

I saw this:
https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...rm-module.html
It appears the newest part is now 1K0-951-605-F but it's a $270 fix.
I just had this happen to my CTT so looks like I'm in for a fun fix myself.

Which was superseded by 1K0951605C. If you search on that part number (visible on the unit) not only Porsche shows up, but also VW/Audi. Who'da thunk they all use the same crappy siren? Of course Porsche wants $300 for it. VW/Audi - all over eBay for $30 used.
