Default What does CTT stand for ?

New owner of 2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo titanium, 68K mile. falling in love with the car right away.

Can anyone tell me what the Porsche CTT stands for ? I saw it was mentioned so many times. the first 'T; must mean turbo, just could not figure out what the 2nd 'T' means ?

Things start getting ugly when discussions start popping up regarding the CTTS.

Wow, thanks a lot.

Then CTTS must mean "Cayenne Twin Turbo S".

Along the same line... I've known what the CTT stands for, but why not simply CT?
All Cayenne Turbos are twin T. And I don't see other Porsche literature which specifically calls them twin turbo (yes, even though they are twin, I know)

When you spend north of $100K on the family truckster / dog hauler, I suppose you've earned the right to add an extra T, for emphasis?
😎

Of, course, maybe I should start referring to mine as the CTD now...

It's a consistency carryover from the sports cars that came before the Cayenne, specifically the release of the 993 Turbo, which was the first production Twin Turbo and different than the big single turbo cars that came before it, like the 930, 964, etc. Ever since then, they've been referred to as 993TT, 996TT, 997TT, etc. The TT cars were a huge development leap as that's also when the Turbos became AWD, the rear suspension subframe that tamed the throttle off snap-oversteer issue was introduced, and using two smaller turbos vs. one large one resulted in a significant reduction in boost lag.
