Turbo Cayenne Discounts??
Hey guys, my dad just found out about some tax law, that if you own a company and get a vehicle over 6000LBS that you get some huge (like 30% of the vehicle price) back in taxes or somthin and is thinking about trading our Escalade on a Cayenne Turbo... Just kinda interested to see what kind of deals people on here have gotten on the truck?? Keep in mind we are trading a vehicle, so the discount won't be as high, but what should be a GREAT deal on a Turbo??
Thanks,
Evan
Thanks,
Evan

It's a great deal - a tax loophole that will be closed by January 1, 2004 - so you better act fast. BUT the Cayenne Turbo weighs only 5192 lbs. I looked into this with my CPA - Cadillac Escalade and Hummer or Hummer H2 are three that qualify...

Search the archives..this has been well covered.
The rule is Gross Vehicle weight must exceed 6000lbs, which includes vehicle, passengers and luggage.
The Cayenne quailifies, as do Land Rovers, Hummers etc,..the real question is do your facts and circumstances for usage qualify under the tax law? See you your local friendly tax advisor for answers.

Hey Colm.. where have you been?
Ruthless.. your accountant is wrong.. Colm is correct its is based on the Gross Vehicle Weight of the vehicle not the Curb weight.. The Cayenne is over the 6,000 lb mark for Gross Weight..

Somebody once quoted in a book:
You don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate. Find out what they have on the lot , what they have coming in, do the options suit you then...
Figure out what it''s worth to you and do the deal! There is no magic answer.
That way you'll be happy!

For example, in the M3 market, when the cars first came out, they were commanding well over sticker. Now, it's relatively easy to find one for about $2k under in certain areas of the country. That's the kind of information we're looking for.

i was verbally told 5K for a loaded tt (msrp<$100,000). still negotiating. things are complicated because of my trade in of a 99 c4 cab. dealer only wants to give me $40,000 for something that retails between $45,000 to $60,000. I may have to sell it myself, and do a straight cayenne purchase. Looking forward to the 179 deduction. bruce

I got mine for $5K off - but I also got an excellent trade-in on my 2002 M3 - roughly $2K better than other dealers.
I should think that $7000 off MSRP should be possible but I considered my deal to be acceptable, especially considering the excellent customer service from the dealer I bought from.

I think I've mentioned this on earlier threads, but a discount on a TT on the Left coast is difficult to come by. Midwest to the East, $5k-$8k discount on a TT is not unusual. Getting a good discount on an S anywhere in the US is not a problem: $6k-$8k from my own and others' experiences.
